PC Jordon Powell will be holding an event at The Bears Trading Company today from 2pm.

This is your opportunity to raise any concerns you may have and to find out what he is doing to tackle the issues that matter to you.

Everyone is welcome and please share this to anyone that you would feel would benefit from attending.

Have you noticed we now stock local honey with a very special label? After the very popular April post we are now stocking beautiful local honey (no joke this time, it’s real) which tastes divine!

Still time to come and enjoy eating outside in the garden, it’s still full of colour and the odd friendly squirrel and native Bear…!

It’s Whitstable Harbour Day, go have fun, take a look at all of the wonderful attractions and events being held in and around the harbour. Lots to see and do, then pop along to Tankerton for a slice of cake or ice cream from The Bears Trading Company, or maybe a light lunch with a tall glass of Pimms - what else is there do to do a Saturday in August…!!!

Lots of fresh homemade cakes on the counter today, including Apricot and Almond Tarts, Coffee and Walnut cake, Black Cherry and Coconut…plus many more.

So, did you see our float? Just in case you didn’t see it, here are some pictures taken yesterday morning on our way. What a wonderful day and a super parade, well done to everyone who organised, took part, or came and supported our amazing community…one glorious day! Big thanks again to Woollard & Kent Funeral Services and Steve for driving our float, without you it wouldn’t have been possible.

We are taking a quick four day break to catch up with family and friends, we’ll be back on Thursday 6 August, refreshed and raring to go again!

CARNIVAL……it’s today & it’s going to be amazing. Keep an eye out for a familiar Bear driving one of the lead vehicles, give him a wave. This years theme is ‘The Garden of England’ - and yes we’ve somehow managed to build a float over the last few evenings, not giving anything away but there’s a few teaser pics below, and yes it was dark when I took them! Our entry is entitled Giving Nature a Helping Hand, let us know in the comments if you spot it and bonus points for a picture during the parade.

The parade leaves Pier Avenue, Tankerton at 5.30pm when our float will be revealed. We want to say a big thank you to everyone at Whitstable Carnival Association for all of their time and commitment in organising what is going to be a wonderful family event.

The Tankerton Arms - Tankerton's Micropub have live music starting from 4pm to get you into the carnival spirit.

We want to say a huge thanks to Nick from Woollard & Kent Funeral Services for the loan of the vehicle to draw our float and too Steve for driving it for us, big bear hugs and love…! Have a great carnival everyone x

Whitstable Carnival is only a few weeks away and they need our help! Can you spare some time to help out on the day with marshalling, first aid, putting out signs and road barriers, etc. All help will be gratefully appreciated and as a community we know we can do it. You might recognise the Bear driving the lead car this year too.

Alternatively why not enter into this years parade, setting off from Pier Avenue at 5.30 pm on Saturday 1 August - this years theme is ‘The Garden of England’
