History of West Whelks
West Whelks was set up in 1947 and has a long history of fishing out of the Port of Whitstable. Below is a picture of some on the specially designed whelk boats of the 1950's era, one of these boats is now an exhibit in Whitstable Museum, as well as our fishing history.
