On Monday (September 21), we proudly hosted the first Shepherd Neame Apprentice Kitchen at The Duke of Cumberland, Whitstable, to showcase the talent, creativity and passion of our apprentices across the business.
The team created a specially curated three-course menu and had a hand in everything from food preparation to front of house customer service, giving them a taste of what it’s like to work in a live restaurant environment.
The menu included goat’s cheese beignets, confit chicken terrine, lamb duet, and white chocolate and cherry jam brioche bread and butter pudding, all of which received outstanding feedback from guests.
The apprentices who worked tirelessly to make the evening a success are:
Joshua Lane from The George Hotel (Level 3 Chef de Partie)
Nikita Tarasenko from Duke of Cumberland (Level 3 Chef de Partie)
Lewis Weygang from The Old Mill (Level 2 Commis Chef and Level 3 Chef de Partie)
Laurel Gates from (Level 4 Hospitality Manager)
Georgina Buckley from (Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor)
We look forward to the next Apprentice Kitchen on November 10, which will focus on seasonal dishes and w**e pairings, and hope to make the event a regular feature. More details to follow soon
