The Omni Run Club Social returns Sunday 19 July 😮

A social Sunday run from Omni — coffee before, guided 5k / 10k routes, and a post-run banh mi waiting back at the cafe — all included with your ticket.

This one lands nicely for anyone building miles towards the Great North Run, but it’s not a race and it’s not about pace. Come for training, the company, the coffee, the food, or just a good reason to get out on a Sunday morning. All are welcome — bring your kids, bring your dogs!

Ticket includes:

Pre-run coffee
Guided 5k / 10k routes
Post-run banh mi

The bar will be open for cakes, beers and other refreshments.

CHEF DE PARTIE WANTED 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

A big change is coming in the Omni kitchen 😮

After years as a massive part of our team, Lee is hanging up his whites. He has been a huge presence in the kitchen and one of the best service chefs we’ve ever worked with.

Lee was here through some of our hardest shifts, our busiest periods, and some of our biggest moments — including the Jay Rayner review in The Observer. Lee has been a huge part of delivering our food, at pace, under pressure, day after day. Now, as he steps away from the stove, we’re looking for the next proper chef to join us.

We’re hiring a CDP for 35–45 hours per week.

We’re not looking for a summer stopgap. We are building the next stage of the Omni kitchen, and we think in years, not months.

What we need:

A beast of a service chef.�Someone tidy.�Someone speedy.�Someone organised.�Someone who can handle a busy section without turning the kitchen upside down.

Three years cheffing experience is crucial!

Asian cooking experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. We love to train, and if you’ve got the graft, the discipline and the right instincts, we can teach you the Omni way.

This is an opportunity to join a busy, independent restaurant with a strong identity, a loyal customer base, and a kitchen that cares deeply about the food it sends.

If you’re a serious chef, who loves a busy service, is tidy under pressure, and is looking for somewhere to grow into rather than pass through, we’d love to hear from you.

O.R.C.S IS BACK THIS SUNDAY 🏃‍♀️☕️🥖

There are still a few tickets available for this Sunday’s Omni Run Club Social — it’s a lovely one to get involved with whether you’re a regular runner, getting back into it, or just fancy doing something a bit different with your Sunday.

We’ll be opening the doors from 10:30am, with a coffee included in your ticket before we set off.
At 11am, you can choose between a guided 5k or 10k route — no pressure, no racing, just a good social run with a nice group of people.

When you get back, we’ll have your banh mis ready and waiting, and once the 10k group are back we’ll be doing our usual giveaway raffle, with some decent prizes up for grabs.

So come for the run, stay for the scran, coffee and raffle — and maybe meet a few sound people while you’re at it.

Front of House | Minimum 20 hours per week | Immediate start available

For the first time in a long (long!) time, we’re hiring for our Front of House team.

We’ve been very lucky. We’ve had a settled FOH team for a good while, but this summer brings a bit of change. One of our team is moving into a graduate job, another has been offered a grant to specialise in her chosen field, and another heads off to university at the end of the summer.

So, with that, we’re looking for someone new to join us.

We’re after someone genuinely friendly, switched on and up for getting stuck in. Someone who can leave their ego at the door and join a silly, supportive team that works hard, looks after each other, and takes the job seriously (without taking ourselves too seriously).

FOH experience is essential. We’re a busy restaurant and we need someone who already understands the pace, pressure and rhythm of service.

The role will include a bit of everything:
• Floor work
• Bar work
• Bar backing
• Running food
• Clearing and resetting tables
• Prepping the restaurant for service
• Keeping things clean, stocked and moving
• Jumping in wherever the team needs you

The main things we care about:

Hospitality — we’re in the business of being HOSPITABLE — of making our customers happy. This is our priority.

Reliability — turn up, step in, be on time, be ready to work.

Communication — talk and listen properly, ask when you’re not sure, keep things clear.

Intuition — notice what needs doing before someone has to ask. Read the room. Spot the job.

Graft — get stuck in. No disappearing, no coasting.

We can teach the Omni way of doing things, but we need someone who already knows how to work in hospitality and understands what good service feels like.

The essentials:
• 18+
• Front of House experience
• Friday and Saturday availability is a must

O.R.C.S #3

The Orcs were out in force on what was a fairly dismal Sunday morning for the third instalment of the Omni Run Club Social.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who turned up for a jaunt around the local area.

The next event will be taking place on Sunday 7th June. We’re praying for some sun. Tickets will go on general sale on Tuesday.

For those new to our run club socials, your ticket gets you a pre-run coffee, a guided 5k or 10k run, followed by a banh mi. Our bar is open too if you fancy a schooner — or, as we saw on Sunday just gone, a post-run bottle of fizz 👏. Dreamy.
