Ciao ragazzi,
We have some very sad news to share today.
With immediate effect, Pranzo will be closing and will no longer be trading. We are truly sorry it has come to this.
Over the last twelve months, myself and Louise have been completely overwhelmed by a constant stream of problems that have impacted our family business. This week’s shock came from an energy company, and was the cherry on top of what anyone could cope with.

Unfortunately, despite months of communication and continued involvement with the Energy Ombudsman, they proceeded to cut us off without warning, leaving us unable to continue trading. Unless you’d like a glass of wine by candlelight! They will not negotiate and are currently choosing to not adhere to the Energy Ombudsman’s request to reconnect and fulfil the outstanding remedies, that they have failed to complete. This is not the first time we have faced Positive Energy via the Ombudsman and won. We will continue the fight but without electricity supplied to the business, we have no choice but to close our doors.

The last 12 months has been hard for us all, we’re only human and have experienced a lot of hardships ourselves, like many of you in the community and the country. Unfortunately, this is one fight too many and in this unjust world of a crippling economy we are just another small family business that closes because of the greed of others.

We are especially sorry for our wonderful team — our current staff, who we truly love and cherish. We will do our best to do right by you all. We tried everything we could to keep going.
We are going to miss you all so much.
To our wonderful customers, over the past five years, you have shown us incredible love and support. It has been a privilege to watch your families grow alongside ours. To anyone who had a booking with us over the next month, we’re so sorry we won’t be able to fulfil your request. To those who have paid deposits and purchased vouchers, please come to see us. We will do our best to do right by you too.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our authentic food, our friendly team, and all the laughs and banter we shared together. May we hold a special place in your hearts as your happy place, because you were ours.

Maybe we will meet again, one day, don’t know when, don’t know where…

🍷🇮🇹 Wine of the Week – Franciacorta Rosé “Contadi Castaldi” 🇮🇹🍷
This week at Pranzo we’re opening something truly special… a Franciacorta Rosé from Contadi Castaldi, one of the most exciting sparkling wine producers in Italy.
Born in the heart of Franciacorta (Lombardy) — often called Italy’s answer to Champagne — this wine comes from vineyards shaped by glacial soils and a unique microclimate between the Alps and Lake Iseo, perfect for producing elegant sparkling wines
The story behind the winery is just as beautiful. Founded in the late 1980s by Vittorio Moretti, Contadi Castaldi was created by transforming an old 19th-century brick kiln into a winery, where the underground tunnels now provide the perfect conditions for ageing fine sparkling wines
🥂 Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, this Rosé is aged on the lees for up to 24–30 months, giving it depth, elegance and that fine, persistent sparkle

After two incredibly busy weeks (and a lot of last-minute calls we couldn’t fit in), our Ligurian Regional Specials return — and trust us, you don’t want to miss this one 🌿🍝
