ANNOUNCEMENT
Brown Moss has a different meaning to a lot of people since we opened our gates 1st August 2020 (the Covid year). We originally set up as somewhere people could come and socially distance whilst enjoying a beverage, a sausage roll and a stroll to escape the reality of how crazy the world was back then. I must admit, i never expected my sisters crazy idea to be so successful. But never the less you guys and your support has allowed me to set up my life, put a roof over my kids heads and live a normal life since being made redundant as a chef due to covid.
I would like to thank every one of my customers, suppliers, staff, and family for making Chef in the Wood what it has been for so many over the last 4 years. It would not have happened without you guys, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
The last year, however, has not been an easy one, it’s hard to deny the weather has been terrible and it’s even harder to deny the moss is more lake than land, making it impossible to walk around and this has made quite a negative impact on footfall. Mix this with having 3 kids and a very supportive partner whom I would like to spend more time with and working every weekend does not mix. Because of this, on my days off, i have been retraining to move into an entirely different field of work, which i will share with you at a later date.
My plan moving forward is to start my new chapter but to also keep the door open for Chef in the Wood, but what that is still remains a mystery to me right now.
So, as from today our gates will remain closed, and we will call this an optimistic "see you later"
