It’s the weekend again and we are looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible from Whitby Folk Festival. A warm welcome is guaranteed, as well as selected tunes in the bar.

The Premier League Season also starts this weekend and we shall be showing Hull City v Manchester United on the mega screen at 12.30 on Saturday.

Come along to fill your boots with award winning street food and fresh local ales from £4.20 a pint! We will also be serving our cocktail menu all weekend , curated wines and spirits from our friends at Whitby Distillery!

There is always something going on at The Taproom in Whitby’s lovely old town and this weekend we have:

The Charity Shield on the mega screen on Sunday
Award- winning street food from our friends at Yuzu!
Fresh local ales from £4.20 a pop, with guests from Brew York, Kirkstall and Bradfield Breweries!

It’s Regatta weekend and we are looking forward to lots of fun in Whitby’s Old Town! As usual, we will be serving our unique offer of award winning street food and local ales. Yuzu will be smashing out delicious food from midday, which is best served with fresh real ales from £4.20 a pint, a selection of fresh local guests from Brew York, Kirkstall and Bradfield, Whitby spirits, curated wines and hand-crafted cocktails. The summer continues and we have the following things to look forward to at The Taproom:

During weekdays we have the return of ‘kids eat free’ by our friends at Yuzu. This means that every young un will be able to enjoy award winning street food for free with every paying adult. It’s a deal, it’s a steal, it’s the sale of the century!

We are also very much looking forward to hosting as many attendees of the steampunk weekend as possible. Our venue uniquely embodies the iconography of the movement, with my features from the late Victorian and early Edwardian period and we will be enhancing this with music and images on our mega screen, so come along to see us and enjoy your weekend in Whitby’s evocative old town!

Finally, Sunday is our first anniversary and we couldn’t be more proud to have become part of the Whitby landscape in our first year. Our mission was to bring competitively priced fresh local ales to the coast and it’s been a fantastic first year. Thank you to everyone that has come along to see us and we look forward to making further improvements in our second year.

As the Summer holidays are in full swing, we are now at a point where we need to make another addition to the squad!

We are looking for a part-time member of our bar team, ideally with some experience however, full training will be given.

You will need to be a reliable, team oriented people person who is hard working and willing to fit in around our rota, which will include weekend work.

Last night was amazing! We were stacked out, the atmosphere was fantastic and England did the business, but not without the usual drama!

We are ready to go again on Wednesday to hopefully roar the boys into the World Cup Final! If you want to secure your spot in front of the mega screen, just message us or email [email protected] with your name, mobile number, time and number of people. We will confirm your booking by phone and hold your table for 15 minutes. Kick off is 8pm.

As well as the game you can enjoy the best value drinks, award winning ales, artisan spirits from Whitby Distillery and many favourites, including Guinness and Veltins Pilsner. YUZU Street Food will also be serving award winning street food into the game, so come along for the best of everything here on the cobbles in Whitby’s delightful old town!

What a fantastic weekend ahead at The Taproom! It’s the World Cup Quarter Finals and we are showing the Spain and England games on the mega screen! All tables are currently booked for the England game, but we will be taking walk ins for drinks. It will be a fantastic atmosphere, so let’s hope England can make it to the semis!

We have also been working hard behind the scenes to develop iur guest list and this weekend we have beers from Bradfield, Kirkstall, Lovelane, Theakston and Timothy Taylor coming onto the bar!

All these can be enjoyed alfresco or in our delightful historic venue on the cobbles with award-winning street food from Yuzu, curated wines and artisan spirits from Whitby Distillery. It’s all premium and no tourist prices in the Taproom, so come and see us!
