The Baytown Coffee Company A family-run coffee company, roasting great coffee daily on our farm on the North Yorkshire Coast, UK. But loving great coffee isn’t just about drinking it.

We’re hell-bent on helping you and your customers enjoy the best quality coffee in a way that works for you. To make sure that happens, we source the highest quality beans, hand roast them and get them to you quickly so you enjoy the freshest, most delicious coffee possible. We’re into that, of course. But for us, great coffee starts with fairness and traceability. It’s important that our growers are paid above the fair trade minimums – that’s why we work directly with farmers and with importers who share our values. Then there’s quality. Our sourcing and selection process ensures that all our beans exceed intense quality standards. That means we do a (potentially dangerous) amount of tasting, and only work with people and partners who really care about what they do. Finally, there’s sustainability. Coffee’s no fun if someone is being let down somewhere along the line. So, we work very hard to build trusting and sustainable relationships with everyone we come into contact with – whether that be growers, merchants or wholesale customers. Then, when all of that is ticked off, we get back to enjoying a great cup of coffee.

Marnar Dale and Silver Street have had a cracking run, but they’re leaving Baytown for good. That means the Back Pack is heading off with them too.

King Street and Sunny Place are also packing up, but they’ll be back next year, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

2,246 bags of coffee. £2,246 donated. 💙

We’ve just made our latest donation of £246 to the EMCTrust bringing the total raised through Maritime Mornings to £2,246.

For every bag sold, £1 goes directly to the Trust, a charity that’s incredibly close to our hearts.

For Baytown founders Nick and Ann Louise, the connection is personal. Their son Harry was diagnosed with leukaemia at just four years old. After three years of treatment, he made a full recovery and later joined his first Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust sailing trip aged 10.

Seeing what the experience gave Harry inspired us to launch Maritime Mornings in 2023, creating a coffee that could keep giving back and help other young people rebuild their confidence after cancer.

And now, 2,246 bags later, you’ve helped us raise £2,246.

🏅Some days are special. Today is one of them.

We're incredibly proud to share that The Bolts has been awarded a Great Taste Award!

The Bolts was developed by our Director and Owner, Nick Hartley, with one goal in mind: to create an espresso that was beautifully balanced, approachable and one you'd look forward to drinking every day. Seeing it recognised by the Great Taste Awards makes this moment even more special.

It's easy to get caught up in the rhythm of roasting, packing orders and making sure every bag that leaves Whitby is the best it can be. So every now and then, it's important to stop and celebrate moments like this.

The Great Taste Awards are judged completely blind, making this recognition all about what's in the cup. The judges picked out roasted hazelnut, rich cacao, gentle molasses sweetness and a smooth, balanced character.

This photo is our team, but it also represents everyone who's been part of The Bolts' journey.

The producers who grew the coffee, the cafés and outlets serving it every day, and the people brewing it at home before work, after a walk or around the kitchen table.

Coffee has a funny way of becoming part of people's routines, and knowing that The Bolts has found its way into so many of yours makes today feel even more special.
