We have been working like dwarves in the mines of Moria to perfect our current draft board. You will find a staggering twelve keg lines and four beautifully conditioned casks ready to pour. That includes our very own Whitby Stout and two permanent lines dedicated to those massive Imperial Stouts you all love so much. 🐉

Whether you are a wizard seeking a complex dark ale or a thirsty hobbit needing a crisp pint after dodging seagulls, we have your perfect match.

Captain Cook learned his trade just down our cobbled street, but we reckon navigating our tap list is an adventure of its own. Come grab a stool and let us be your guides. ⛵

Good afternoon from The Quirky,

Due to recent posts ourselves and The Green Dragon Ale House have decided to come together to try and help support each other as well as other businesses along Grape Lane and surrounding areas to try and pedestrianise Grape Lane between the hours of 10am till 5pm.

We believe that pedestrianisation of the Lane between these hours will create a welcoming atmosphere for all as each business will be allowed to place a small seating area outside their venue. This closure will also increase pedestrian safety and allow people to enjoy the historical Lane with all its small independent businesses.

We would like to thank everyone that signs to petition or would like too but you must be a resident of North Yorkshire in order to sign. Link in comment section!!!!

The wizards at Vocation Brewery have delivered a masterpiece straight to our cellar. Their Barrel Aged Imperial Kirsch is pouring blacker than a moonless night over the North Sea. 🌊

This 10 percent ABV cherry stout is so rich and decadent that even the Hobbits of the Shire would skip their second breakfast just to have a sip. The barrel aging adds a sweet woody character that pairs perfectly with those wild Yorkshire coastal gales outside. 🌬️

Ditch your map to Erebor and let your nose guide you straight to our bar instead. We promise this keg will not last long once the local dwarves catch wind of it. 🍺

We are incredibly proud to be a genuinely dog friendly pub, so we decided it was time to upgrade our entrance with this brilliant little nod to the Shire. It is the perfect pit stop for parched paws after a brisk walk along the Cleveland Way. 🌊

There is nothing we love more than seeing a thirsty pup rehydrate before coming inside to lounge by the bar while you explore our latest keg lineup. We firmly believe that a proper craft beer pub should be a welcoming community hub for everyone, including our furry best mates. 🍺

It is just the one swan actually! 🦢

We are absolutely thrilled to pour this brilliant creation from silent brew co. This Triple Berry Sour is a cinematic masterpiece in a glass. It has a color so vibrantly red it would make Dracula himself feel right at home up by the Abbey ruins. 🧛

Do not let the cheeky name fool you into thinking this is a simple pint. The brewers packed enough berries into this keg to feed a hungry Hobbit for a week. We think it pairs perfectly with a view of the harbor and a good laugh. 🍻

Our quest for outdoor seating alongside The Quirky Den has just gained some serious Viking muscle. The brilliant folks behind Valhalla York are opening up at number six Grape Lane right next door to us, and they are ready for battle!

Hobbits and Northmen standing shoulder to shoulder against the dark lords of traffic sounds like a winning strategy to us. 🪓

The master plan is to push for a road closure from ten in the morning until five in the afternoon.

This genius move stops confused drivers from getting stuck outside our doors and creates a perfectly safe haven for pedestrians. We can almost taste the salty coastal breeze while sipping a complex barrel aged stout outside already. 🌊

We are patiently waiting for the official council petition to go live so we can unleash our loyal patrons.

It turns out the Trappist monks know exactly how to brew a golden ale that hits the spot perfectly after a long day exploring the cobbled streets of Whitby. We like to think the ancient monks of Whitby Abbey would thoroughly approve of this Belgian wizardry looking out over the harbour ⛪
