Last Wednesday we were proud to host this year’s Hospital Caterers Association Salon Culinaire at our Weymouth Campus 👨‍🍳

Students had the opportunity to meet a range of exhibitors in our Avenue Restaurant, gaining valuable insight and advice from industry professionals. Throughout the morning, exciting competitions took place for both our students and talented chefs from the NHS, creating a fantastic atmosphere across the campus.

It was a brilliant event with a great turnout, thank you to everyone who joined us and supported the day!

Last Thursday we were delighted to host a fantastic Guest Chef Evening with Chris Holmes 👨‍🍳✨

Guests enjoyed a beautifully crafted menu prepared alongside our talented students, starting with delicious canapés, followed by a Mushroom, Pickle Salad with Fennel Biscuit. The evening continued with expertly prepared fish and meat dishes, before finishing on a refreshing Lemon & Lime, Raspberry Meringue dessert 🍋🍓

We were very proud to welcome Jake Swain back to the college as a guest chef since his graduation back in 2018🤩🎓

Jake is the head chef of a two AA rosette recognised restaurant Platform Restaurant in Westbay⛱️ Jake spent the day creating an incredible menu that truly reflected his style and influences. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, giving our students valuable insight into the industry and a real understanding of how the skills they develop at Coastland College - Weymouth directly link to the demands of the catering world🍴🥘🧆🍖

😍We are hosting a special dinner in collaboration with two of our valued suppliers. We’re delighted to welcome Gary Kilminster from Essential Cuisine and Phil Clark from Harvest Fine Foods, who will be working with our students to create a menu inspired by the high-quality products they supply to the industry.

Both development chefs will be supporting our learners in designing and preparing a three-course, two-choice menu, offering invaluable insight into current industry standards and ingredients. 🎄🍴 The Catering & Hospitality students from Coastland College have been hard at work this term serving festive three-course Christmas lunches to staff and members of the public.

👏 In total, they’ve prepared and served 651 meals - averaging around 50 meals a day! The feedback has been fantastic, with everyone thoroughly enjoying their dining experience. 🌟

A huge well done to our students for their professionalism, skill, and festive spirit! 🎓✨
