The Palm House is open this Thursday and Friday but will then close for 8 days for a barely deserved holiday by the owners. So please join us over the next 2 days or you will have to wait until Monday 22nd June for your coffee/breakfast/waffle/cookie/sundae fix.

Tuesday 23rd June will be the start of Jungle Week 2026 so make a note on your Time Tree (or diary in old money) and we have other exciting surprises in the food department that week as well!

The Palm House Baby Club and post-natal maternity support group is running as usual tomorrow from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the function room. All new mums welcome to come along and make new friends in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

The Palm House is holding its third Jungle Week from 23rd June to 28th June. We are looking for any one with an interesting or exotic pet willing to show the children and talk about the animal.

We have snakes, bearded dragons, frogs, cockroaches and other animals booked in for 4 days but are ideally looking for any other animals such as stick insects, spiders, parrots etc for Tues 23rd and Wednesday 24th for approx 2-3hrs. The event is all free so we cannot pay but we are happy to supply any food or drink requirements, including for the pet!

The Palm House is open until Friday as normal then closed from Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st June, re-opening with Jungle Week 2026!
And as normal, we have Moonfleet in tomorrow playing relaxing acoustic pop and folk songs from 10-12pm and 10% off all meals for over 60s. We look forward to your company over the next few days ❤️

Don’t forget, tomorrow and Sunday is the last weekend the Palm House will be open until 22nd June so if you want a fantastic all day breakfast, delicious pancakes and waffles, or simply fresh coffee and cake, then please pop in to see us.
And when we all return from our mini-break it’s the start of Jungle Week 2026!! Can’t wait!

Important Announcement.

THE PALM HOUSE IS CLOSING DOWN

for one week from 13th to 21st of June. Due to senior staff either on holiday or having a baby (I know, unreasonable right), we are unable to provide our usual level of mediocre service so we have reluctantly taken the unusual step of closing the cafe for 8 days.

We apologise for any inconvenience, especially to our many groups who call the Palm House home, but we will re-open on Monday 22nd June with a bang - the start of Jungle Week 2026!! Details to follow. 🐆🦍🦧🐒

We obviously remain open every day until 4pm on Friday 12th June so we look forward to seeing you in the next few days. And sorry if we scared you at the start of this post 🤣. Peace and ❤️

Calling all Superhero’s!! 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Join us tomorrow for a superdooper superhero craft workshop at the Palm House where you can create your own mask and other cool stuff. There will also be facepainting to complete the effect and don’t forget to come in your superhero outfits!
What’s more, every crafter will be able to pick 5 free tickets to win fabulous prizes right there and then on our tombola!!

So today at the Palm House we have a puppet display and puppet making workshop from 11am to 2pm. This is a free event to be hosted in the main cafe.

The Baby Club is running in the Palm Room as usual from 10.30am to 12.30pm. We have fans and a lovely breeze blowing through the room so it should be comfortable for everyone.

Outside we have our little splash table for kids to play, splash and keep cool.

And for all customers, we have a great range of cold drinks, ice-creams, sundaes etc to keep you hydrated and chilled.

Important Notice
The Palm House Baby Club is on as normal tomorrow so all new and regular mums welcome to come along.
We have lots of cooling fans going in the Palm Room so the heat shouldn’t be a problem.

The puppet display is now on in the main cafe from 11am to 3pm so please come along to see how they work and maybe have a go at making your own finger puppet! Lee will also be here to do magical facepainting and kids tattoos!

We also have lots of cooling fans, shady outside spaces, cold drinks, iced coffees and strawberry topped pancakes and waffles to enjoy!
