Season 5🍸🏖️
Always an emotional one to close the bar at the end of the summer season. We work so hard all year in planning, setting up and slinging drinks only for it to suddenly come to an end before we know it.
From the bottom of my heart I really think this year was the tipping point for us. We’ve been through scorching seasons and what can only be described as never ending summer monsoons and all the while we’ve stuck with it to the very end year after year. To an extend luck is very much with or against us and what a lucky season we’ve had.
But you know what isn’t down to luck?
The incredible team, musicians & customers who have made this season the most successful one we’ve had to date!
There’s been times when I’ve thought about throwing in the towel. We’ve been on the brink of bankruptcy, had changes in ownership, taxes ramped up, supplier costs surging sky high, cancelled live music, difficulty hiring, horrendous luck with the weather on bank holidays (yeah I’m talking about you, August you f*cker!) and the project of opening a venue in town to add to the team’s workload slap bang in the middle of last summer.
But you know what?
We persevered. And this summer was the one where we realised we’ve truly established a brand & reputation.
It was a pleasure to see familiar returning faces than ever. Those of you that holiday in Weymouth and come back to find us are the lifeblood of what we do. To the locals, we’re so glad to have had to opportunity to bring something lively to your doorstep!
I’m so immensely proud of what The Cheeky Tipple Bowleaze Cove has become. We’re no longer just a little cocktail bar operating out of a tin can, we’re an attraction & a destination.
