Whether you’re after coffee and cake, a cream tea in the sunshine, or just a peaceful wander around the gardens, we’ve got plenty to keep everyone happy.

This week you’ll find…

🍰 Homemade cakes & bakes (including our Biscoff chocolate tiffin and Dorset apple cake!)
🍦 Ice creams & sundaes
🫖 Cream teas with our huge fluffy scones
🐢 Rescue animals including tortoises, rabbits, guinea pigs and our ever-curious chickens
🌸 Beautiful gardens, fairy gardens and views of St Catherine’s Chapel

☀️ Another scorcher in Abbotsbury today! ☀️

While you’re enjoying the sunshine, don’t forget our furry, feathered and fluffy friends. ❤️

💧 Make sure they have plenty of fresh water.
🌳 Give them somewhere cool and shady to escape the sun.
🐶 Save dog walks for early morning or later this evening.
🔥 And remember… if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws!

We’ll be keeping all our Muddy Patches residents topped up with water and enjoying the shade. 🐓💚

Pop in for an ice cream, a cold drink or a cream tea if you’re out and about today… and stay cool! 🍦🫖

📸 Our resident cockerel is making the most of the shade… although we’re not convinced he’s actually helping by supervising everyone! 😄

Heat can be dangerous for pets, so providing shade, fresh water and avoiding exercise during the hottest part of the day are among the key recommendations from vets and the Met Office.

After two busy behind-the-scenes days of baking, prepping and animal care, everything’s ready for the week.

Fresh cakes, cream teas, coffee, plants, antiques, animals and plenty of lovely corners to sit and enjoy it all.

A pretty good midweek treat.

What a difference a few degrees makes ☀️🌿

After the heat of the last few days, today feels just right for a wander, a sit in the garden and, most importantly… cake.

Freshly baked and ready today we’ve got:

🍏 Dorset apple cake
🍒 Cherry Bakewell polenta cake (gluten free)
🍫 Biscoff chocolate tiffin
🫖 Cream teas with our signature HUGE fluffy scones
🧀 Cheddar & chive scones
🍦 And of course, ice cream

All of our cakes and bakes are homemade right here on site, using eggs from our chickens and ingredients from the garden wherever we can 🌱🐓

Add in the animals, plants, antiques, fairy gardens and a sunny spot to sit, and that’s not a bad Saturday really.

Open today — come and enjoy it 🌿

Today is officially far too hot ☀️🔥

This was the 5am dog walk before the pavement turns into toast and the dog starts filing complaints.

If you’re out and about and need cooling down, we’ve got:
🧊 Iced tea
☕ Iced coffee
🍦 Ice cream
💦 And most importantly… a hose if you fancy a light spraying.

A small but important note:
Please don’t bring your dogs in today… not because we don’t love them (we do), but because if they’re melting on the end of a lead while you’re enjoying an iced latte, you will be heavily judged 👀🐶

Early walks, shady spots, plenty of water — look after yourselves (and your floofs).

Mondays and Tuesdays might be our closed days, but they’re never quiet ones.

Behind the scenes we’re busy baking, restocking, watering, cleaning, feeding animals and getting everything ready for the week ahead.

By the time we open again on Wednesday, the cake cabinet will be full, the animals will be fed (many times over) and everything will be looking lovely.

For now, it’s aprons on and kettles on ☕🧁🌿
