🌿 It’s that time of year again…

The time when we close the gates, put the kettle on, and get stuck into all those winter jobs that have been quietly waiting for us 😄

Our last day of trading this year will be SUNDAY 27th SEPTEMBER.

But although the gates will be closed, we definitely won’t be disappearing.

Over the winter we’ll be busy:
🔨 Revamping the kitchen
🪑 Getting our new indoor seating area ready
🥪 Giving the menu a bit of a refresh
🐰 Making sure all the animal houses are cosy and winter-ready
🌿 Tackling all the jobs our lovely gardens need through the colder months
…and no doubt finding a hundred other things to do along the way!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful customers, near and far, who have visited us this year. Every coffee, cake, plant, antique, ice cream and muddy wander really does help support our little business, and we appreciate it more than you know ❤️

We can’t wait to welcome you back in the spring and show you everything we’ve been working on.

Layers of banana, caramel and toffee buttercream, topped with white chocolate, banana chips and crunchy honeycomb… because apparently there is such a thing as making banoffee even better 😍

One of the lovely things about our slightly wild and wonderful gardens is never quite knowing who you’re going to bump into.

Keep your eyes peeled when you visit… there are considerably more residents here than the ones we actually look after! 🌿🐸

☀️ Another gorgeous day in Abbotsbury… and we’ve been baking! 🍰

Today’s rather ridiculous-looking star of the show is our Chocolate Honeycomb Cake 🤤 — chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream and great big chunks of crunchy honeycomb. Subtle it is not.

We’ve also got plenty of other homemade treats, including:

🍎 Dorset Apple Cake
🍒 Cherry Bakewell Polenta Cake (GF)
🫖 Cream teas with our huge homemade scones
🍦 Plus ice creams, iced coffees and plenty more!

And once you’ve eaten enough cake to require a gentle lie down, you can wander the gardens, browse the plants, antiques, gifts & collectibles, admire the views and say hello to our rescue rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and chickens. 🐰🐢🐔

Basically… come for a slice of cake and accidentally spend half the afternoon here. 😄🌿
