SATURDAY STACKS!

Two new cookie stacks for the cabinet this weekend.

Crunchie & Twirl Cookie Stack
Milk and white chocolate swirled between three layers of cookie, stuffed full of Crunchie and Twirl bars.

Black Forest Cookie Stack
Milk and white chocolate swirled between three layers of cookie, with sticky black cherry filling and Bourbon biscuits.

Both available from 11am Saturday — the difficult bit is deciding which one!

FESTIVE HIGH TEA BOOKINGS ARE NOW CLOSED

Well… we really weren’t expecting to be saying this quite so soon!

Just nine days after releasing our Vintage Christmas at the Movies Festive High Tea, we are now fully booked.

We’ve been absolutely bowled over by the response. Thank you so much to everyone who has booked, phoned, messaged and shared our posts over the past week.

We’re so looking forward to decorating the tearoom, bringing this year’s theme to life and welcoming you all in December and January.

We just need to get Halloween out of the way first! 🤣

NEAPOLITAN CHEESECAKE!

Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry cheesecake, all layered on a biscuit base.

We weren’t quite sure how to finish this one, so we went full old-fashioned ice cream — swirls of fresh cream and ’99 Flakes on top.

And yes… it really is as enormous as it looks. It only just fits in the cake cabinet!

A LITTLE SOMETHING NEW FOR WEDNESDAY…

First up, our new Pumpkin Spice Swirl Cookies — a soft and chewy pumpkin spice cookie swirled with cream cheese, finished with vanilla buttercream, a dusting of cinnamon and pumpkin seeds.

They looked so good we obviously had to taste test one… purely for quality control. They’re SO good — soft, spicy and just the right amount of sweetness. A proper taste of autumn.

And then there’s the Kinder Brownie Roll…

Not quite a Yule log (it’s definitely not Christmas yet!) — chocolate brownie rolled with Kinder filling, covered in milk chocolate and Kinder drizzle and topped with Kinder bars.

One slightly autumnal. One completely ridiculous.

Both in the cake cabinet from 11am today.

SUNDAY. AND WE’VE ADDED TWO NEW ONES…

It’s definitely been the week of the cookie stack — we’ve sold rather a lot of them!

So we’ve added two new ones to the cake cabinet for Sunday.

PEANUT BUTTER HEAVEN COOKIE STACK

Three layers of chocolate chip cookie, packed with swirled milk chocolate, white chocolate and peanut butter, Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, caramel chocolate pretzels, chocolate cake, fudge, butterscotch and caramel chips — with pockets of caramel running through it.

Then topped with buttercream, chocolate, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and dipped peanuts.

Yes. There really is all of that in there.

CRUNCHIE COOKIE PIE

Milk and white chocolate swirled together and stuffed full of Crunchie pieces.

Sometimes simple works too!

Available from 11am today, while they last.

10,000. THANK YOU.

What a week.

We said in our Festive High Tea update that we’d been completely overwhelmed by the response, and somehow this week has just carried on in much the same way.

The phone has barely stopped, so many of you have booked to come and see us at Christmas, we’ve had some incredibly lovely comments and messages — and now our main page has passed 10,000 followers, alongside thousands more of you following us on our other page and Instagram.

When we opened Tea on the Green 18 years ago, social media wasn’t even part of the plan. We certainly never imagined that thousands of people would one day choose to follow along with the cakes, the High Teas, the occasional ridiculous creation and everything else that goes on here.

It’s been one of those weeks that has genuinely floored us a little.

So this isn’t a big flashy celebration. We just wanted to say a very big thank you to everyone who visits us, follows us, recommends us, comments, shares our posts and keeps coming back.

We really do appreciate it.

IT’S FRIDAY!

So we’re starting the weekend with some seriously good stacks.

- Malteser & chocolate cake cookie stack
- Dark chocolate, Twirl & golden crispy chocolate cookie stack
- Lemon meringue & Custard Cream cookie stack

And then there is the Galaxy Caramel brownie tart which has been flying out this week — so much so that we had to make another two yesterday!

FESTIVE HIGH TEA UPDATE

We really didn’t expect today’s response.

From the moment the phone lines opened this morning, the phone rang continuously until we closed, and we know that unfortunately this meant a lot of you simply couldn’t get through.

We are genuinely so sorry if you spent today repeatedly trying to call us. We completely understand how frustrating that must have been.

To give you some idea of what was happening at our end, we were taking Festive High Tea bookings one after another throughout the day and have already booked in over 200 people.

ALL WEEKEND SITTINGS BEFORE CHRISTMAS ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED.

After going through today’s bookings, this is the availability we currently have:

DECEMBER

3rd December — 11am, 1pm & 3pm
4th December — 11am & 3pm
9th December — 3pm
10th December — 3pm
11th December — 11am
16th December — 11am
17th December — 11am
23rd December — 11am & 3pm
24th December — 11am, 1pm & 3pm
31st December — 11am & 3pm

JANUARY

1st January — 11am, 1pm & 3pm
2nd January — 11am, 1pm & 3pm
3rd January — 11am & 3pm

Availability correct at the time of posting and will change as bookings are taken

Our new digital phone line has also given us a bit of a headache today. We discovered that it has a voicemail system which we hadn’t previously needed to use — and this evening we found more than 70 messages waiting for us.

If you have left us a message, please bear with us. We will work our way through them, but with so many to return it is going to take us a while. You may find it quicker to try us again tomorrow.

We know that some people are going to be disappointed that the date they wanted has already gone, and we can only apologise. We genuinely had no idea that bookings would come in at anything like this speed.

Ali, Mark and Charley have been completely blown away by the response today. Thank you so much for wanting to spend part of your Christmas with us at Tea on the Green.

And to everyone who spent half the day trying to get through to us — we really are sorry.

Who remembers crème caramel?

One of those desserts that takes us straight back to childhood — smooth, wobbly set custard topped with that distinctive dark, almost bitter caramel.

So this week we’ve turned it into cake.

Vanilla sponge filled with caramel buttercream, then completely covered in a dark caramel ganache.

All the flavours of crème caramel — without the wobble.

And a word of warning… this one is VERY rich. Possibly one to share.

Sunday starts with a Kinder Bueno Cookie Pie!

Thick cookie pie packed with Kinder Bueno, swirled with milk chocolate and Kinder, then topped with milk chocolate, vanilla buttercream and — because apparently that wasn’t quite enough — a Kinder Bueno bar.

This one went into the cabinet this morning. Judging by what happened to the cakes yesterday, we’re making no promises about how long it stays there!
