A note from the Gullivers team 🧡
From this weekend, you’ll begin to notice some changes to the menu at Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen. Before we introduce it properly, we wanted to share the story behind that decision, because for us, this is about much more than food. Many of you have been with us since the beginning. You have watched Gullivers grow, seen familiar faces develop new skills and confidence, supported our farm, kitchen and market garden, and become part of the community that makes this place what it is. As part of Sturts Community Trust, Gullivers has never simply been a farm shop with a café attached. Everything we do is built around creating meaningful opportunities for adults with varying support needs. That can mean caring for animals on the farm, growing produce in the market garden, working in the shop, preparing food in the kitchen or welcoming customers through the door. The aim is always the same: to create an environment where people can learn, contribute, build confidence and feel proud of the role they play. Over time, it became clear that trying to maintain an increasingly complex menu without the kitchen staffing levels needed was making it harder to provide the stability, structure and support our companions deserve. So, we made the decision to return to what matters most. Our new menu is smaller and more focused, but the thinking behind it is bigger than ever. It allows us to concentrate on quality and consistency while creating a kitchen environment that is more accessible, achievable and supportive for the people at the heart of Gullivers. This is not about lowering our ambitions. It is about building stronger foundations for the future. Thank you for supporting us through every chapter and for continuing to believe in what Gullivers stands for. You can read the full story behind the new menu over on our blog.
