Weeks 5 and 6
I put systems in place, found the most amazing girls who became part of my team, I was excited for the 18 hour days to shorten and this begin to feel easier.
ALAS, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN.
The adrenaline ran out, tiredness kicked in, and the thought of rolling another cookie dough ball was making me want to poke my own eyes out.
I hit the “what the hell have I done?” stage and struggled to find any positive vibes, never mind post them.
Running a business is hard, and I have a newfound respect for everyone who’s doing it, especially those doing it on their own.
But as per usual, you guys have kept me going. Seeing daily/weekly familiar faces, remembering your order, and being able to talk deeper than the weather is bringing me joy.
Continuously meeting new people every day is the best, and after you’ve gone I genuinely hope you’ve left feeling better than when you arrived and that you’ll return another day.
I’ve found the best team around (I’ll introduce you shortly). They’re a pleasure to work with and they’ve made such a difference to my workload.
My family and friends are my rock. They show up, hug me, give me their best Kris Jenner “you’re doing great, sweetie,” and even stage baking interventions for emergency drinks.
My camera roll is lacking from the last 2 weeks but here’s a few bits I captured.
Don’t worry, I’ll be back to the extreme close-ups of me rambling and fast-forward baking next week 🤎
P.S. I promise I won’t poke my eyes out.
P.P.S. I’ve rolled 1,512 dough balls.
