Saturday was a day of sunshine, canapés, BBQ buffet and the most beautiful venue. Nymans IMHO is the most beautiful of the National Trust gardens we have around here. Ceremonies are held in the gorgeous sunken gardens and after five the whole gardens are free of visitors and for the guests to wander. The wedding breakfast is held in the cafe which the couple can dress. It makes for a really beautiful, relaxed day. Perfect for the smaller, quirky weddings that we love to do. If you’d like this kind of wedding vibe then got to for lots of stunning wedding pics and inspiration. Sophie looks after all the Nymans weddings and makes sure your day is perfect ❤️

So many funerals recently, we are always honoured to help make the wakes a fitting tribute to loved ones. Celebrating a long life, well lived is a beautiful thing to be part of. Whether it’s simple tea and cakes or something more elaborate we will always make sure it’s pretty.
We’ve been doing other things too but of course I’ve totally fallen off the social media wagon already and not taken any photos or done any posts.
I will try harder!

Here’s a pretty hen party cake I made this week. July is pretty busy (I’ll be lucky to get to the end of it) but if you’d like pretty cakes for August and beyond, let me know.

On Friday we have a party. It’s a little bit different, it’s a farewell, a celebration of a life but the gentleman wanted everyone to have a party, so we are making party food. Canapés, delicious sweet treats and savoury finger food and this is the beginnings of homemade seed and nut crackers to go with some beautiful Sussex cheeses. I will take photos!

Day one of trying to be a better social media person! Look at all these photos! We had a much calmer weekend with just one really special event celebrating an 80th. 120 people in a beautiful place being fed champagne and gorgeous canapés. It was a really lovely afternoon with a great team, and the guests enjoyed it too!!

I’m back! Out the other side of a very busy weekend. We fed around 2000 people, breakfast, lunch, canapés and picnic bags. The South of England show is always a long weekend for us, 4.30am starts to cook fresh croissants and danish for the equestrian marquee and 10pm finishes by the time the next day prep is done. Throw in some wedding canapés too and I had to spend Monday in bed, everything ached and reminded me I’m getting older. Being knocked over by a pig and twisting my ankle didn’t help either!
Would we miss it? Of course not, every year I say never again but always do. It’s the people, the whole show environment. Animal people are just the best and all those giving their time to steward because they love the show and the countryside, it’s a pleasure to feed them. We laugh a lot, mainly at the groundsmen, we cry a bit, mainly at 4.30am, we feed people. I am lucky to have a wonderful team who work hard with smiles and prop me up.
This is the one and only photo I took, these doughnuts were tiny, one bite size, freshly fried and part of a mini Canape tea for the most beautiful wedding. It rained, it stormed but it was still glorious.
I’m still recovering but looking forward to another gorgeous event at another Sussex estate this weekend, I’ll try harder with the photos!
