10.40am on Saturday, Feb 21st; the shop was packed, along with a queue of new customers, except for one, the guy that flashed his Environmental Health ID and announced that he was visiting to carry out our Food Hygiene inspection!

The 3 of us who were working full pelt already, then had the added trauma of working around the dreaded clipboard which held the telltale tickbox forms etc, that would determine our fate.

Boxes ticked, surfaces and equipment scrutinised, and foodstuffs probed and prodded, our diligent inspector was happy to announce that we’d maintained our extremely high standards and pulled out the green window sticker with the highlighted wonderful number 5 on it.

Thanks go to our wonderful staff who work hard to maintain our high standards, and to our equally wonderful customers who support us and make it all worthwhile and satisfying.

And yes, as our inspector informed us without warning “We DO work Saturdays…”

Anyway, being Marsek’s on 5 High St seems quite apt so we wouldn’t have it any other way.
