It’s so hot in the UK today!

I run a little village café in Surrey, just outside London. Like many small independent shops around here, we don’t have air conditioning… 🥺
And yet, our lovely regulars have still been coming in from early this morning, enjoying their hot coffees and heading off into the heat. ☕️
Our little café has customers of all ages — from tiny two-year-olds having their babyccinos, to a lovely lady who will be turning 100 next week. 🤍
Some of the little ones we first met while they were still in their mummies’ tummies are now toddling through our door, proudly asking for their babyccino. 😅
It’s our fifth year at Café Joen. I’m often running around on my own, busy from morning till afternoon, but meeting these customers who have become like friends and family is one of the greatest joys of my days.
On such a very hot day, I just felt like writing a few words…
Simply because I’m grateful.
Grateful for these precious connections,
and grateful to the One who brought these precious people into my life. 🤍
