A MESSAGE REGARDING RECENT DISCUSSIONS
We are aware of the recent discussions and comments circulating publicly regarding The Goat and, in particular, staff matters.
Firstly, we want to make it clear that staff matters are private and should not be discussed, debated or aired on a public platform. If anyone has an issue or concern regarding The Goat, our staff or the way we operate, we ask that you contact us directly and give us the opportunity to address it properly and privately.
We are also aware that some false narratives and inaccurate information have been created and are now circulating. We have documentation and evidence relating to the matters being discussed, and we are confident in the facts.
We also want to reassure our customers that we treat our staff with respect and fairness. We care about the people who work with us and would never intentionally mistreat our team.
There have also been comments and suggestions regarding our hygiene and food standards. We categorically reject any inaccurate claims regarding this. We take hygiene, cleanliness and food safety extremely seriously, and our reputation across the businesses we have previously operated speaks for itself.
Between us, we have operated multiple food businesses which have achieved ratings of 4★ and above, as well as multiple retail stores which have maintained almost entirely 5★ ratings. We have worked incredibly hard over the years to build businesses that our customers trust, and we will continue to uphold those standards at The Goat. We have taken many actions to improve the standards as well, including a ceiling to floor deep clean, purchasing gloves and hairnets and reorganising the kitchen.
The Goat has only recently reopened its kitchen, and while we openly acknowledged that the first couple of days were rocky, we have been overwhelmed by the support since then. We are learning, improving and working incredibly hard behind the scenes.
We won’t be using social media to discuss individual staff members or private matters, because we believe that is neither fair nor professional.
If you have a genuine concern, please come directly to us. We will listen, we will investigate, and we will deal with it properly.
