Upper Rectory Restaurant A unique dining experience.

We are a small family run restaurant seating up to 16 people offering a unique twice monthly supper club,field to fork, using our own produce from the kitchen garden garden, the finest Welsh organic cheeses and locally sourced meat etc. We also offer shepherds hut accommodation sleeping 2 in the top paddock above Upper Rectory, to complete your unique dining experience.

Highly recommended. We have had the most delicious lunch .

They are one of the oldest cultivated foods, first eaten in the Middle East before being propagated by the Romans and Greeks

During the height of the Roman Empire, only the wealthy were legally allowed to eat artichokes. Catherine de Medici is credited with introducing them to the French court in the 1500s.

Artichokes contain cynarin and sesquiterpene-lactones, natural compounds that have been shown to improve liver function and help lower cholesterol.

They are very low in fat and calories, but high in dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and folic acid and utterly delicious .
