🍂 FROM A QUIET START TO A SCONE SELL-OUT! 🍰☕

Well, that was a bit of an odd week at Double-Gate Farm!

We started off rather quietly, but things gradually picked up and by the weekend we were ticking along quite nicely. And do you know what? For October, I’ll take that! 😊

Apart from a Birthday cake collection, today was definitely ALL about the scones! We pretty much sold out, so I think we all know what Steve will be spending a good chunk of his week doing! 😂

Tomorrow is looking a little calmer. We’ve got our B&B guest breakfasts to sort, cake orders to get out to our trade customers, and a trip to get paint for one of our Riverside bedrooms, which is getting a bit of a makeover this coming week. 🎨

And after that? I’m rather hoping for a few hours of doing absolutely nothing. We’ll see how that goes! 🤣

🍁 LOOKING AHEAD TO THIS WEEK…

We’re back open Thursday to Sunday, and our October Afternoon Teas are looking rather fabulous as they leave the kitchen!

A little nod to Halloween, a touch of autumn, plenty of homemade treats and nothing too frightening (apart from the washing up afterwards!). 🎃👻

We’ve got plenty of availability this coming week, so if you fancy an afternoon catching up with someone, treating yourself or simply escaping the everyday rush for a couple of hours, we’d love to see you.

🎄 AND YES… CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

We’re now taking bookings for TWO very different festive experiences at Double-Gate Farm, and I’m really looking forward to both of them!

🥂 Our Luxury Festive Afternoon Tea

A wonderfully indulgent afternoon of festive sandwiches, savouries, homemade Christmas bakes, delicious desserts and a few seasonal surprises. Perfect for gathering your favourite people around the table, having a proper catch-up and enjoying a little Christmas luxury.

🔥 Our Festive Christmas Cabin

Something completely different! A cosy, relaxed and rather lovely way to get together with friends or family. Festive treats, warming drinks and marshmallow toasting around the fire pit. A little less formal, a little more outdoorsy, but every bit as special.

Both experiences run Thursday to Sunday, 26th November to 20th December, and bookings are now open.

Christmas always seems to arrive before we’ve quite caught up with ourselves, so it’s worth getting your favourite people organised early!

❤️ Finally, a big thank you to everyone who visited us this week, whether you popped in for a cuppa, demolished a cream tea, enjoyed lunch or treated yourself to something from the Cake Bar.

We really do appreciate every single visit, especially as we head into the quieter months. Your support keeps our little countryside business going, and it means a great deal to us.

Right then, I’m off to bed. Steve can start mentally preparing himself for the next mountain of scones! 😂

For reference, a full cake is usually £25 so this is a bargain!
