Bookseller holiday day 2: how much does a bookseller read while on holiday?

Yesterday was Barcelona, and because the Pope was in town, we decided to abandon our plan to see the basilica and instead booked to go to Barcelona Zoo.

In terms of reading, i read a little of ‘Dissection Of A Murder’ while in bed before breakfast, and then once we were back on the ship and by the pool.

65 pages in total for today.

Bookseller Holiday Day 1: how much does a bookseller read?

So it was travel day which meant a 4am arrival at the airport. Breakfast was consumed, and a cheeky little bit of book shopping happened, and then we were off.

I was finishing off Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros, and over the course of the flight and the evening sun bathing, i finished it. So that is 220 pages to my page total.

But also, I had a little look in the cruise ship library, and I wasn’t joking when i said I couldnt escape 😂

I was going to start a new book but then I was dead to the world…

As a bookseller, what’s on the holiday TBR?

We are closed from tomorrow for 1 whole week off, so Charlotte has put lots of exciting books on her TBR that she will hopefully get round to reading.

Books and Bakes DCI Ryan adventures continue…

The Moor (book 12) was never going to be the most exciting of locations to visit unless I went while an event was on.

However, on the walk there, I found Wylam Brewery (whoch ive heard so much about), a lake/pond, a hand statue, exhibition park, and a sleepy swan.

I then treated myself to a starbucks coffee and something to eat. A great time was had.

Books and Bakes DCI Ryan tour continues…

Episode 11: The Infirmary

After book club on sunday, Charlotte took herself into Newcastle with her copy of The Infirmary. She walked to the RVI and took a picture. The RVI holds alot of memories for Charlotte - good and bad- because it was part of her journey to better health once she moved up North.

But it was lush to see all the lovely architecture that Newcastle has to offer.

So we had a suggestion recently that we should pop our menu in the window so people can maybe see what they fancy before popping in to store.

So we have listened, and created a window-friendly menu. We hope you agree that it looks fab.

We have also included a whiteboard which will always show which cakes we have available, aswell as the current seasonal drink option.
