The day has arrived. Today, Friday 22nd May 2026, Stitch Station closed its door for the final time.

We wanted this post to be a reflection of the beauty, creativity, and warmth you all brought into our lives. This stunning watercolour painting captured the shop front we loved so dearly, and the accompanying poem says everything that is in our hearts today.

To every single person who walked through our door, shared a story, or created something beautiful here: thank you. You didn't just support a small, local business; you built a community 🙏

We will miss you all immensely.

As part of our preparations for closure, please note some changes to our usual opening hours:

❤Our Monday Groups met for the last time this week.
❤Our Tuesday Groups will meet for the last time on Tuesday 19th May.
❤Likewise, our Wednesday Groups will meet for the last time on Wednesday 20th
❤and our final Knit n Knatter session will be 11am - 1pm on Thursday 21st May.

Thank you all for your continued support and kind words following our closure announcement earlier this week. It means so much to the whole team to hear how valued Stitch Station has been to you and the Great Sankey Community 🙏

As we head into our final week, please see the further reductions on patterns, magazines and books (from our reference library), and don't forget that all our remaining habby and yarn is 1/2 price!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Stitch Station 😥

To our wonderful community of makers and friends:

The time has come for us to start a new chapter. We are writing to share that Stitch Station will officially be closing its doors on Friday 22nd May.

It has been an absolute joy being part of your lives and your creative journeys. Whether you stopped by for a quick coffee, a long chat, a ball of wool, or to learn a new skill, thank you for making this shop so special.

Please stop by again before the 22nd to say goodbye and make use of any remaining gift cards and loyalty points.

Double the kindness, double the collections! 🧶✨

A massive thank you to our incredible community of knitters and crocheters. This month, you’ve been so prolific that our lovely Warrington and Halton Hospitals Charity volunteer, Carole, had to stop by twice to collect all your beautiful donations!

These handmade items are heading straight to the maternity suites at Warrington Hospital, to provide comfort to the tiniest patients and their families.

Thank you, Carole, for being our bridge to the hospital, and to our crafters—your talent and generosity never ceases to amaze us 🙏
