Week 10 - and now we have hit a hump in the ground 🤦‍♀️🫠

Nothing is easy is it 🤣 well nothing worth having so they say so I’m holding onto that one

Yes bad ground as we have started to dig - wouldn’t mind it’s only a small extension to the front

But because of the steels requires internally we also needed to make the ground and the rubbish floor safe inside to 🫠

Which of course is more money

Money that hasn’t been budgeted for in this because the ground needs piling

Now you can’t even get a quote on piles as the cost depends on how deep they go 🤯😩😩😩 SOS!!

First One went in at 10 m - RIP THE BUDGET !

First I will say “does money grow on trees?” Asking for a friend 🤣 if so let me know where the tree is

It’s a very steep learning curve and something I hadn’t planned on learning to be honest.
My idea (Elle) was always to renovate the property and rent the space out

Lucas had other ideas though - so hear I am lol 😂

Anyway - this is what iv learnt so far …

We Bought this abandoned salon to turn it into a coffee shop, but stripping it back revealed a NIGHTMARE
- 

Dry rot, wet rot, ash ground… I mean it doesnt get much better really and more expensive - because that means more money to sort the floors which need piling and shuttering, also means more delays, which ultimately cost money also.

and id already had the devastating news a few weeks ago with how many steels are needed for this building.

The council are trying to delay our build 
- 
So week 9 of owning this coffee shop and yes it’s been some journey with how long this has actually taken.

Now I am a novice at coffee and hospitality but this is my area and its pretty shoddy from warrington council. 

A deadline they set - still went over 

A facade that initially was a no - soon was looked at by a younger more open minded person and then all of a sudden it was granted. I just dont understand why it gets to that point in the first place

Anyone with a set of eye balls can see its modern, timeless and will uplift the property as well as fit in with the area. I mean have they seen them v**e shop fronts they keep approving ? Surely to god THIS had to be approved.

Annoying really

Anyway - thats the reason we are on week 9 at this point and it does feel slow as if we havent moved very far along in the time we have had it 

I think we have a few more hurdles to jump over also but follow along because im going to be telling all
