Three months in.

It’s strange how quickly a place can start to feel like it has always been there.

Three months ago, we were opening the doors to Occo for the first time, hoping people would understand what we were trying to create. Since then, we’ve been overwhelmed by how warmly it has been received.

We’ve watched early mornings turn into busy afternoons, first visits turn into familiar faces, people make the trip to Warrenpoint just to come and see us, and Occo slowly become part of people’s daily routines, weekends and little rituals.

That has probably been the most special part of all of this.

In just three months, we’ve accumulated over 13,000 followers on here, and our content has been viewed over 3 million times. Numbers we genuinely never expected to see this quickly.

But the thing we keep coming back to is what those numbers actually represent.

People.

People walking through the door. People bringing friends. People sitting by the window for longer than they planned. People telling someone else about us. People coming back.

That was always the hope with Occo, that it would become more than somewhere to get a coffee. That it would become a place people felt connected to in their own way.

And somehow, only three months in, it already feels like that is beginning to happen.

Neil and I are so grateful for the start we’ve had, and especially for our team. The work, care and energy they have put into these first few months has been incredible. They have carried so much of Occo every single day, and we genuinely couldn’t be prouder or more grateful for them.

There is still so much we want to do, which is probably what makes this point feel so exciting.

Three months in, and it still feels like we are only at the beginning.
