Turkish & Syrian Earthquake. An Urgent Appeal from the Daisy Love Cafe

We are Cansel and Deniz San, owners of the Daisy Love café. We're also Turkish citizens and have extended family members in the area affected by the recent earthquake.

We are joining with Turkish communities in the Thames Valley and London to send supplies directly into the affected areas. Turkish logistics companies are making their vehicles available for this relief effort.

We would like to make an urgent appeal to the Wargrave community to help us gather specific items to be sent. The trucks will be leaving very soon, and we therefore ask that these items be brought to the Daisy Love café by this Saturday February 11th by 16:00.

The items are:

o Adult and child coats, boots, warm hats, jumpers, trousers, gloves, scarves, socks, blankets, sleeping bags, flasks, torches (without batteries), nappies, sanitary pads and cleaning products
o Tinned food
o New packs of AA or AAA batteries
o Portable mobile phone charging packs for iPhone or Android
o Tents are also required but only those with poles, not inflatables

We ask that all items of clothing and sleeping bags are either new, or at least clean, and in good condition. We also ask that they are boxed and ready to send. This helps speed up the process of making them ready for shipment.

These relief shipments are being organised by the Elbistan Community Centre, a registered charity located in North London, previously known as Bakis Community Centre https://www.el-com.org.uk/.

LEMON STICKY BUNS
We've taken our squishy vanilla sourdough and carefully rolled with a zingy lemon curd paste for a proper fruity punch. Finished with a sticky lemon glaze, each bun has been sprinkled with white sugar pearls and blue cornflower petals for a picture-perfect finish.
