Sadly, Dazed and Confused have had to cancel their gig with us this Saturday 😢

But fear ye not… we have found a worthy replacement, in the form of The Punk Shift!

So shift your behinds and get yourselves down to The Oak on Saturday night for some absolute stonking punk and rock covers… that have been punked!

And if you're really lucky, you might even get some indie thrown in there too!

It's going to be loud, it's going to be lively, and it's definitely going to be a Saturday night worth getting off the sofa for!

We're sorry, but the time has come, the C bomb is about to be dropped....

We’ve held off for as long as possible, but we’ve had several enquiries already, so we’re having to go public…

It’s only 13 weeks until Christmas. 😱
Denial is no longer an option!

If you’re looking for somewhere for a work do, family get-together or a friends’ festive knees-up in the run-up to Christmas, then hopefully we can help!

You already know our roast potatoes rock, and our cauliflower cheese is, in the words of my niece, “BANGING!” 😂 Add in pigs in blankets and suddenly, all becomes right with the world. 🎅🏻

We have two festive menus available, so give us a call and get your booking in before everyone else remembers that Christmas actually happens every year!

And if you fancy making a proper night of it, why not coincide your Christmas get-together with one of our live music nights in December? Good food, good drinks, live music and questionable dance moves… what more could you want - oh wait, there's more - you could tie it in with one of our music nights and keep the party going once you've finished eating! A Sunday afternoon of beautiful voices!

Next Sunday the Hemingford Ladies Choir are back performing at the Community Centre — and if last year is anything to go by, you’ll want to get there early! It was a sell-out, so don’t leave it until the last minute if you want to bag yourself a seat. 😉

And seeing as it’s a Sunday, why not make an afternoon of it? Pop down to The Oak first for a scrummy Sunday Roast, then wander up to the Community Centre for coffee, cake and an afternoon filled with beautiful voices. Sounds like a pretty perfect Sunday to us!

This year there are no tickets and entry is FREE, but they would love a donation as the event is raising funds for two fabulous village causes:

Warboys Day Centre (AKA The Young At Heart Club)
Warboys New Parent & Toddler Group

Two brilliant groups supporting both ends of the age spectrum in our village — so come along, enjoy some wonderful music, have a slice of cake and help support two very worthy causes at the same time.

For those of you who missed our previous post, in January myself & Andy will be handing the keys to The Oak back to Admiral Taverns so the hunt is on to find the next landlords.

We’ve loved our time at the pub, we’ve loved meeting (almost 😉) every single one of you & we’re super proud of the community pub we’ve created. We’d love to pass the baton on to someone who will not only keep old favourites going but nurture new ideas to take it onto the next stage.

If any of our customers past or present want to take on this little gem of a pub there will be an open day on the 29th September to discuss things with our Business Development Manager.
