A door has closed, but the fire is still 🔥
To our incredible community, regulars, and friends: I am sharing a deeply personal update about the future of my cafe.
Shortly after my maternity leave we were unexpectedly given notice to move out of our location.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, we discovered that our landlord chose to replace us by handing the space—and our hard-earned concept—over to a former employee, who has taken on our previous staff.
To say this betrayal cut deep is an understatement. When you pour your heart, soul, and savings into building a community hub, you never expect the rug to be pulled out from under you from the inside. But a cafe isn't just four walls, a landlord, or a stolen idea. A business is built on the vision, grit, and passion of the person who created it.
You can copy a menu, and you can take a lease, but you cannot replicate the heart of the founder.
I am down right now, but I am absolutely not out. I am fighting for the future of what I built. This is not the end of my story—it is just an incredibly sharp plot twist.
Right now, I am dustier but wiser, and I am actively exploring our next steps, new locations, and how to bring our community back together bigger and better than before.Thank you to everyone who has supported me from day one.
