✨ This week we're doing something a little bit different...

We're incredibly proud to be showcasing this beautiful handmade Biscoff layer cake, baked by the lovely Brendan. ❤️

Many of you will know Brendan and his mum as familiar faces in the café. Brendan has worked incredibly hard to turn his passion for baking into a reality, and we're delighted to have one of his creations on our counter this week.

It's a gorgeous, indulgent Biscoff cake with plenty of filling, plenty of flavour, and it's absolutely worth treating yourself to a slice! 🍰

If you love it as much as we do, I've also included a photo of Brendan's business card so you can find him directly for your own celebrations and special occasions.

Let's show a talented local baker a little bit of love. 💛

☀️ Summer holiday plans are here! ☀️

Just a little heads-up so everyone can plan their coffee and cake fix over the summer. 😊

I'll be open Tuesday to Friday throughout the school holidays, with Mondays closed, and I'll also be taking a proper week off commencing 10th August to spend some quality time with my two little ones and come back refreshed.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and for supporting my little independent café. It genuinely means the world, and I can't wait to see you all over the summer! ❤️☕🍰

Forget the iced coffees... this beauty has stolen the crown! 🍓🍌🥤

It's fruity, ice-cold, ridiculously refreshing, and exactly what's hitting the spot in this warm weather. We've been blending them non-stop all week, and they've been flying out faster than anything else on the menu!

Friday closure notice 💚

This week's special is making a comeback... and for good reason. 🥪

Our Roast Beef & Horseradish sandwich is back on the board!

Tender roast beef, crisp salad, fresh bloomer bread and just the right amount of horseradish to give it a little kick.

With the weather taking a breather, it felt like the perfect week to bring it back.

Right then, coffee people... the day has finally arrived. ☕🎉

For those of you who've been listening to me bang on about the new coffee machine for what feels like the last decade, you'll be delighted (or possibly relieved) to know that I wasn't just full of hot air.

The old machine has officially left the building.

What I perhaps hadn't thought through was that moving a commercial coffee machine is very much a two-person job. Apparently, however, nobody told me that, so I've spent today proving once again that poor decision-making and stubbornness can achieve remarkable things. 💪😂

The shiny new machine is due to arrive on Monday at around 10:30am. Assuming all goes to plan, we should be pouring coffees again from around 11:00–11:30am.

So, if you're planning a Monday morning visit, please come in for a smoothie, milkshake, cup of tea, cold drink, cake, chat, emotional support... just don't ask me for a coffee before the new machine is up and running unless you'd like to watch me cry into an empty portafilter.

The really exciting bit comes after that. Once we're up and running, I need my loyal coffee drinkers to help me with the next important mission: taste-testing. I've chosen a coffee blend, but I want honest feedback. Is it perfect? Does it need more oomph? More punch? More "I can now face Monday"?

You'll have to help me decide.
