The Green Paw Cafe

The Green Paw Cafe A dog friendly Coffee shop based within a garden centre

03/08/2026

We now have a small play area for toddlers and young children up to 5/6 years old. Please feel free to bring your own child's bucket and spade for the sand pit because I have been trying find some in the shops and they're just aren't any. The play area is free for coffee shop visitors and is open Tuesday to Sunday 10.30 to 2.30pm. All we ask is that the area is kept tidy and respected for other users and parents supervise their children at all times. Make sure when using the trampoline the safety net is securely fastened to prevent injury. We will have sinage going up this week but anyone using it will be verbally briefed of the rules. Thank you. And hope the little ones enjoy it 😊

I want to thank everyone who has visited us this week after our post last week. (We didn't get anyone today lol) It was so nice to have a steady custom and also meet new people and chat. I just want to let you know, I have found a new supplier to supply some fantastic cakes and the ones pictures below are what will be available this week, from Tuesday. They look so yummy and can't wait for you to try them. We also have a plant based cake on order.

Kinda cupcakes
Battenburg cupcakes
Rose, raspberry and pistachio cake
Cookies, cream and oreo plant based cake
Salted caramel and cream cake
Sticky toffee cupcakes
Chocolate orange cupcakes

If these sell successfully, we will definitely be ordering more from this company.

Our Toddler area will be open and ready for Tuesday and free of charge.

Hope to see you next week xx

Good afternoon. Apologies to anyone who came today and we couldn't serve lunch. Unfortunately a member of staff who cares for the dogs up at Centre Paws had a family emergency and I had to take over her. Ellie was able to serve cake and drinks so I hope your visit wasn't a disappointment. Back to normal tomorrow 🙂
Just a couple of things. I keep getting messages asking for our address so have posted a picture of the page details. We are not on Google, but our address of where we are, is there, including our opening times. I have also posted our current menu, which is limited until we get busier. I have also had people asking about the play areas. These are not ready yet. In the original post it was a suggestion of an idea (which is starting to happen) and we wanted feedback if it would be worth doing. I think some
people have missed this part. I dont want to disappoint anybody but please make sure you have read the post correctly. The toddler area equipment has arrived today so we start on that asap. Thank you all for the comments, shares and messages.

Hi as we have so many new followers and we are being asked so many questions, I thought I would do post to show you what we're about and do.

We are now running the coffee shop within Molloys garden centre on Leasowe road. Our address and times we open can be found on the details of the page.

Living in the garden centre is Pedro our chinchilla and outside in the garden are our guinea pigs and rabbits. This is where we are looking to make a small toddler play area. We have a table set up in the garden centre offering different craft options, from pot painting, jewelry making, colouring etc and would look for other things to add.

We are also very dog friendly and have a dog bar where you can purchase toys and treats for your fur friend. We are also part of Centre Paws Ltd. This is where you can book private hire of the dog park. There is also a dog grooming service, play group sessions with a collection and drop off service (a cross between a walk and day care) public socials occasionally as well as pool pawtys in the outdoor swimming pool (weather permitting) Centre Paws are currently expanding another field to make an even more exciting area for dogs to visit and are also home to babe the pig and kiara and Arthur, 2 Shetland ponies, oh and Dee dee the cat. There is an used area next to the ponies and babes paddock, which is where we would look to create the Adventure play ground for children. This would be completely separate from the dogs offlead areas.

The play areas posted about yesterday are not available right now but hoping very soon. The toddler area is already underway. The coffee shop has really been struggling with little to no custom hence the post yesterday. We thought the idea of incorporating a play area for children would help invite more custom and attract more attention. I never thought that one post would get around the way it has. Thank you everyone who has commented, shared and messaged. I still haven't got round to replying to everyone sorry. We are open tomorrow from 10 am if you fancy popping by even if its just to say hi. Xx

I have just popped in after being to the wholesalers to stock up, to the garden centre staff telling me people have come today. I am so sorry but we are closed Mondays. Our opening hours are on the page. I'm sorry to those who may have been disappointed today but greatly appreciate your support. We hope you visit again 🙂.
I will share a post later everything we do here including photos of the cafe and outside as people have been asking.

Hi everyone. I am completely overwhelmed with the response of comments. Me and the staff really appreciate it. The Green Paw Cafe is something new we started a few months ago along side Centre Paws Ltd. I don't know why or how the post below has gotten around the way it has because nothing different has been done than our usual post. In previous posts, we have shared regularly to numerous local groups and never had a response like this. I can only think that individual shares have set it off, and for that I thank you all. I have seen many individuals have posted to other groups also (thank you) unfortunately I won't see the comments on these posts unless im activelyscrolling through facebook, as they are under the persons profile who posted to that group. Everyone's comments are welcome and will be taken on board and I'm sorry if I don't respond, I will try to. A lot of people are saying about posting and advertising to groups, believe me I have shared and shared posts and never had a response like this. There have also been some posts regarding the use of ai pictures on the post. These are just to give an idea of what our plans are, we can't post an actual photo because the area isn't ready yet.
There are a lot of comments comming through at the minute as well as private messages and it is so overwhleming but in a good way. I will get to those private messages by tomorrow. Thank you all so much xx

We are sad to announce, we have not had one customer today or yesterday. I dont know what else to do. We can't stick to menu's we want to offer because of the cost of wastage, so it's very hit and miss. This also applies to the days we open, sustaining food and wastage along with staffing cost is just unreal. In one last attempt to start getting a regular custom, I am going to be creating areas for children to play in. Although we we're all about dogs and their owners initially, it has sadly failed us. I also think knowing about us isn't helping. We have a sign going up tomorrow and will share more on social media. I am going to limit the menu too. Nice and basic stuff. As for the play areas I will create, one will replace the puppy/small dog play area in the garden centre to a toddler area age ranging from 18 months to 6 years. The second area if the toddler area is successful ish will be up at Centre Paws Ltd at the back end of the garden centre. And will be created as an Adventure play ground for ages 4 and above. We have a parcel of unused land up there and it'll be next to our ponies and Babe our pig. The pics below are to give you an idea of what I'm hoping to create. This won't be cheap to create but I'm hoping it would really attract families, groups, activitie organisers, such toddler mornings/groups, craft, book reading groups, knitting, anything really as our outside space is lovley in the garden centre and up at centre paws is surrounded by nature. We mustn't forget dogs of course, as we do have our socials and private hire dog park at Centre Paws. If this fails I will then pull The Green Paw Cafe. Let me know what you think and suggestions too would be great, after all it's you, the public we want to visit here, so your input would go along away in helping us. Pics of something we hope to achieve 🙂
