“We are preserving Wrexham’s mining heritage by restoring the Grade II listed Miners Rescue Station, while building a strong community through arts, education, our café, and sharing history through memorials, a museum, and tours.

We took a flame from one of our candles and drove it down to Cardiff so the City of Culture bid could honour the 266 miners who died.

It was only fitting we paid our respects to the Aberfan and Senghenydd disasters on the way past

We should not, and never will forget.

We would like to thank everyone involved in helping our vigil.

Wrexham AFC have a close relationship with the Wrexham Miners Project and send their players to learn about how people worked so hard to make a living. Tonight we gave a tour to Jenny Sugarman's Women's team.

All the girls and staff listened intently and were a credit to their team.

We were honoured that Mia Roberts lit the first candle of our vigil at 6pm. 92 years after the shift start in Gresford.

We will stay at the Station until 2.08am where all the candles will be extinguished. Cofiwch Gresffordd.
