On Thursday evening we had a lovely surprise visit from the Mayor of Wakefield along with Cllr Matthew Morley. We were presented with a certificate of thanks recognition for our service to the community over the past 20 years. It was totally unexpected, but what a lovely gesture. It was lovely to share the moment with two of our Grandchildren, a core memory made for us all. They especially enjoyed being draped in the chains of office 😊
The things we have done over the years haven't been done for any sort of recognition, but thank you very much, it was lovely to receive on our retirement.

Tonight we will celebrate with anybody that is able to come along, the end of an era, the beginning of another, it's time to put our feet up, but also get out to do and see things we have missed out on whilst committing our time to the Thatched.
All are welcome to come along 🍾🥂🍻🎉

**A message from our new Landlady**

A big Hello from the new landlady & her family coming across to the Thatched House next week!

We can't wait to welcome all customers, both old & new, on our opening day Wednesday 6th March🍻 We will be closed for a brief period of 2 days prior to this, just whilst we get settled & we appreciate your patience with us whilst we do so.

Some changes will be made over the course of the coming months & we hope you like them & stay with us through the transition.

We feel so fortunate to be taking on such a lovely place & really wish Steve & Angie all the very best in their retirement. We hope you will all be joining them on Saturday at the pub for a good old knees up to say goodbye.

We are pleased to announce that Chris will be staying with us at the Thatched House as we move across, so a familiar friendly face will still be around & we hope that we can become familiar friendly faces to you all as well ☺️

🍗 Carveries will start again in the next couple of weeks, date TBC, so keep your eyes on our page! Hopefully we can keep
you all as happy as Steve has over the years (no pressure😬)

🔎Quiz night will start back up from next week!

🥩 Food specials may change but we will keep you informed.

🍺 Draught beers will change slightly in the next 5 weeks along with some new products being introduced but firm favourites will remain!

Well that's a wrap to 20 years of Sunday carverys, thank you all who have supported the carvery over the years. Wasn't much left for us 😂

Steak Night as normal tonight. Come get rid of those winter chills and enjoy a Sirloin or Fillet with a glass or two of our house wine 🍷🥂

Please take note of our revised opening times for the rest of January. We will now only be serving food in the evenings. Apart from our Sunday Carvery which will continue as normal.

Just a reminder that our kitchen remains closed this week so no steak night tonight 😔

First of all Happy New Year to all our customers!

Unfortunately not the best start, due to illness our kitchen is remaining closed all this week 😔
Hopefully we will be back fighting fit on Sunday (7th) for our carvery!
