Nikki's Bakehouse is a local gluten free bakery, supplying us here at the Volunteer with some absolutely delicious cakes! 🎂

Whether you fancy a sweet treat after a lovely meal, a little something to enjoy with your coffee, or you’re just in the mood for cake (because let’s be honest, there’s always room for cake! 😉), Nikki’s delicious bakes are the perfect choice.

From the gorgeous snowballs to the caramel shortbread and everything in between, we’re delighted to have these local goodies on our menu.

We thought we’d ask the team a very important question… because let’s face it, food is one of the best perks of the job! 😂
If you’ve visited us recently, you’ll know that we have a lovely, small team in both Front of House and the Kitchen. And because of this, you’ll probably spot our FOH staff enjoying a little something to eat while on shift.
So, we thought we’d let you in on a little secret… 👀

🍷 SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT! 🍷
We thought it was about time we gave a little shout-out to one of the fantastic suppliers who helps keep the drinks flowing here at Volunteer Arms Lounge Bistro — the lovely team at Wine Importers! ❤️
Wine Importers provide us with the majority of our delicious wine selection, and we honestly couldn’t ask for a better supplier to work with.
And we’re pretty lucky that they’re just along the road from us too! 🍾 Which is particularly handy because there have been more than a few occasions when we’ve had to make an emergency “SOS… we’re running low!” call to the lovely guys and girls there. 😂🍷
We’re very privileged to have built such a great relationship with the team at Wine Importers, and they’ve been a huge part of helping us offer the wines you enjoy when you visit us.
In fact, one of their Regional Directors, the infamous Darren Wilson, joined us a few weeks ago to host our recent Cheese & Wine Night 🧀🍷 — and what a fantastic evening it was!
We haven’t arranged the next one just yet… we thought we’d give Darren a wee break first! 😉😂
But don’t worry — there WILL be another Cheese & Wine Night coming in the next few months. So, whether you missed the last one or you’re already looking forward to joining us again, keep your eyes on our socials! 👀🍷
