Includes a cask ale bar with eight handpulls, two more bars and a lovely first floor restaurant. Food is served during the following times:
Monday – Saturday from 12 noon to 3pm & from 5pm to last food orders at 8.30pm
Sunday from 12 noon to last food orders at 6pm

The famous water mill at Ulverston is now home to a superb restaurant overseen by Multi-award-winning chef Steven Doherty. We also have three distinctive bars. Our Cask Bar on the ground floor features wood-burning fires and the Mill’s original water wheel. Enjoy one of our craft ales or spirits in its cosy alcoves. Venture up the iron spiral staircase to find the Terrace Bar with more space to relax and a large outdoor area. And on the top floor sits the Loft Bar, Ulverston’s only true cocktail bar, and the perfect place to unwind at weekends or to book for private events and parties. 🎶 MEET LUCIE

Always smiling and never short of something to say, Lucie is one of our Senior Supervisors and a familiar face to plenty of our regulars. 👋

She first joined us as a waitress, left for a little while, then realised life away from The Mill simply wasn’t for her and came running back! Since returning, she’s worked her way up and was promoted to Senior Supervisor this year. 🙌

When she’s not chatting to customers or spending time with the team, Lucie loves a music festival or gig, usually with a Sarti Spritz in hand. You might even spot her at The Mill on her day off!

Say hello next time you’re at the bar. She’ll definitely say hello back! 🍹

Ulverston born and bred, James has been part of the mill team for nearly a year and is currently studying computer science at university.

His drink of choice is a pint of Lancaster Black, which certainly earns him a few brownie points with us! 🍺

His fun fact? He once drove all the way from Paris back to Ulverston. Quite the journey home!
