Now, I would be lying through my teeth if I said I wasn't proud of this batch of 50 sourdough today! In a heatwave too?! The sourdough said "what heatwave??"

I adjusted a lot, took into account the environment, temperature, water temperature, humidity, dough temp and it all paid off! Soooo happy! Can't wait to see you all & catch up 🥰

Collections from 12 until 5 today - thank you! 🥰❤️

It has been an absolute pleasure to be at Tywardreath School this morning for the careers day, along with other fantastic local people & careers.

I wanted this time to be much more interactive than last year. So today, we made focaccia! I made the dough and the kids had a chance to dimple, feel & top the dough with some rosemary & sea salt. We put their initials on the baking paper so they can grab exactly theirs when they finish school today.

We took the finished dough back to the bakery and baked them off, and delivered them back to the school fresh to take home for tea!

Honestly just the best day! Can't wait for next year! Thank you so much for having me 🥰🥖

Hi my loves, I hope we are all set for the crazy heat incoming!

Sadly, this isn't a post i wanted to make, because i have already spoken on it, but I fear i need to try again.

We are still getting people not collect and not pay for their orders, even last week after i addressed this, and it's really taking a toll on us. As a small business, it's so difficult for us to manage, and really not fair on us.

I absolutely understand that life happens, family emergencies, even forgetting. But a message and at least an offer to pay, seems like a respectful thing to do. Many of you do, and i am so grateful, it's just the minority.

There's been so many orders for this week, yet I've only had 3 people actually pay me in advance, so unfortunately I need to ask again for payment if you have placed an order - please message me for my details, and for anyone making orders today, my details are on the checkout page.

I hate making posts like this, but I have to try and protect our business, our space and our sanity here. We all wouldn't go to a supermarket and just walk out with goods without paying, so we just ask that you don't treat a local small business any differently.

If this continues, it will throw into question whether we even continue to have a Friday sale, which will impact so many of our customers who have come to rely on weekly bread, this obviously is not something I want to do - but if the minority continue to make this harder, it is something we will have to consider.

Thank you massively to everyone who does collect & pay every week, you guys are fantastic and I appreciate you all so much 💗 sorry to have a moan 😔

As always, an incredible day at Whitecross Local Market a huge thank you to everyone who turned out.

I never get a chance usually to grab a photo of our stall before we start trading because we are hounded upon (usually after being late!) 😂

But this time, I had been baking since 1am and we managed to make it there early, see the traders and set up as normal like everyone else! 😂🥰

Enjoy the snaps! They are a rarity 🫠🥖

Our little bean got to mill her own flour yesterday at Puddle Farm market thanks to our incredible flour & grain suppliers Will&Larisa

It's such a special thing to know that this is 100% of what you get, you'll find absolutely nothing else and no nasties in their flour.

Thats one of the reasons we love it and use it, but the flavour is also unmatched, beautiful almost honeyed sweet notes in the heritage flour gives it such a unique taste. We love it and we know our customers do too 🥰

Lyra is generally very sensory, so doesn't enjoy touching a lot 😂 but flour? Loves it 😂😂 I'm sure she would bathe in it if I let her 😂🥖

Hi my loves, website orders for next Friday's collections are now live!

As always, the website is open for orders until Wednesday evening for collection next Friday from our home bakery.

I do need to ask one small favour from everyone going forward. If possible, please could all orders be paid for by bank transfer when you place your order. My bank details are now available at checkout on the website to make this easier. If you can't find them, please message me and I will send you them directly.

I didn't want to put this in place, but unfortunately, we're increasingly finding that orders are being placed and then not collected or paid for, often without any message to let us know. As a very small business, this leaves us significantly out of pocket each week and makes it incredibly difficult to plan production and manage cash flow and wastage.

Collection day is Friday between 12pm–5pm (and often earlier), which should hopefully give plenty of opportunity to collect your order. I know some new people expect an email notification when the order is ready. I will be honest, sometimes I manage that, some days I just have so much on and it slips my mind. But generally, things are ready from 12, sourdough often from 10am.

We get an awful lot of messages from people asking to collect on Saturday instead if they have missed collections, unfortunately this just isn't something I can accommodate, as weekends are already dedicated to markets and other bakery commitments, and also because I just do not have the space to safely and freshly keep that much bread. When its freshly baked, it sits on cooling racks to cool down and set, but beyond that and overnight, I have no means of storing bread properly.

If something does come up and you're unable to collect, please just send me a message when you are able. Life happens, and communication is always appreciated.

Moving forward, a transfer is highly recommended on order, if this isn't possible, I understand. But then if your order is not collected on Friday, an invoice will be sent to you, and you will still be asked to pay for your order.

Thank you for supporting our little bakery ❤️ 🍞

Hey guys,

I am still here, promise! I've been in a real content rut recently! It feels a bit weird to just post a nice looking loaf of bread after a major life announcement 💍😂

Anyway, here's a recent pretty loaf. I hope you're all still here!

I will try and resume the usual content soon, the website is live, still with bread! A lot of our regulars tend to slow right down this time of year, they go away to escape the season, so the website and our orders slow right down - so if you always miss out, now is definitely the time to grab a loaf 🥖

This weekend we are at on Saturday & Puddle Farm on Sunday.

We'll be there with our usual sourdough goodies, the most stunning return of our bakewell tart (a whole separate post on that coming soon) but please let me know if theres anything else you'd like to see! We always struggle with knowing what to take to these particular two markets, so you can help us 🙏💕

Let me know in the comments!

28th May has always been a day of nothing really, nothing special, nothing important, nothing to note.

Well, that is until this year, until Thursday 28th May, 2026. When the love of my life, asked me to marry him, and I said yes 💍🥰

In true form, I was flapping around in the kitchen covered in flour, dough & starter, prepping sourdough for you all for Friday. The perfect time to ask - of course!

After coming out of such an awful period of my life a few years ago, my move to Cornwall was very intentional, it was to get away, to change my life, to choose a different life for myself. When I moved to St Agnes, I felt peace for the first time in what felt like a lifetime.

And then I met Joe, this wonderful, geeky, energetic ball of surf 🏄‍♂️ full of energy, loves a drama (as long as it doesn't directly relate to him) moved to Cornwall for similar reasons to me, loads in common, and it just worked, from the very beginning, it just worked. He taught me what safe feels like, he taught me that real love wasn't what I had thought, but it can be soft, gentle and encouraging.

He pushed this business to what it is today, and gave up some of his own dreams to be on this crazy bread adventure with me, and I will never have the words to thank him enough for that. He has pushed me to be the best that I can be, and he is the reason that Tywardreath Bakery exists as it does today.

I love you, I can't wait to be your wife 💍✨️
