🐬 Just a quick dolphin heads up… 🐬

We know everyone loves to know when they’re out, and there are two large pods making their way along the coast this morning.

They’re heading towards Cullercoats now, so if you’re out for a walk along the seafront, it’s well worth keeping an eye on the sea. We’re watching them from The View as we speak!

🐬 Dolphin Update! 🐬

They’re just passing The View now and heading towards Cullercoats! 🌊

If you’re anywhere along the seafront, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on the sea. We know how much everyone loves a dolphin update, so we thought we’d let you know where they are.

Hopefully they’ll hang around for a while or even come back this way, so don’t give up if you don’t spot them straight away!

If you're heading to the coast this weekend, you should spot our new signage on the way down to Longsands and King Edward's Bay.

⚠️ These signs are a reminder to 𝗯𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 - strong and fast-moving channels of water flowing away from the shoreline out to sea.

Rip currents can be difficult to spot, but are sometimes identified by a channel of churning, choppy water on the sea's surface.

The red arrows on the signs show the areas where rip currents most commonly occur; please take a moment to review this information before heading down to enjoy the beach.

❗If you are caught in a rip current, don't panic and don't swim against the current.
🏊 Stay calm, swim parallel to the shore towards the waves and return to shore if you can.
🗣️ Float on your back and call for help if you are unable to escape.

⛔ Never enter a rip current to help someone - 🛟 throw them something that floats and call for help.

In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

10 years ago today we opened our doors, and what an incredible journey it’s been.

Every day brings a different view. Whatever the weather, there’s always something special to look out on… and there’s a reason we called it The View. 🌊

Over the last 10 years we’ve shared millions of smiles 😊, served countless breakfasts and lunches, and had the privilege of helping celebrate so many special occasions. 🎉

To everyone who’s been part of The View over the last 10 years, thank you. And to every customer who’s walked through our doors, whether you’ve been with us from the very beginning or joined us more recently, thank you. You’ve helped make The View what it is today, and we’re incredibly grateful. ❤️

🐬 Huge pod of dolphins just spotted! 🐬

We know you all like to be kept updated, so here’s a quick heads-up…

A huge pod of dolphins is just off Longsands, heading towards Cullercoats, and they’re putting on an incredible show today, with some of them leaping right out of the water. 🌊

They’ve been making plenty of appearances recently, but there seem to be even more out there today. If you’re nearby, it’s definitely worth taking a walk along the seafront you might just catch them before they head further up the coast.

What a lovely way to head into our 10th birthday celebrations. Yesterday The View was awarded another 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

As we get ready to celebrate 10 years on 4th July, we’re incredibly proud to say that every inspection over the last decade has been awarded 5 stars.

This achievement belongs to Team View. From the kitchen to front of house, every single member of the team plays their part, works incredibly hard and takes real pride in what they do. Thank you for everything you do, day in and day out.

A huge thank you to all of our customers for your continued support over the last 10 years.

It’s absolutely beautiful down here this morning. If you’re looking to cool off, we’ve got air conditioning inside, or if you’d rather enjoy the sunshine, our dog friendly terrace is the perfect place to relax and take in the view.

Hopefully the dolphins put on another amazing show today after all the sightings last night. 🐬☀️

🐬 Dolphin alert! 🐬

A huge pod of dolphins has just been spotted heading right along Longsands towards the Priory.

I know everybody loves to know when they’re around, so if you’re down the coast, have a look out to sea there are loads of them and they’re putting on a fantastic show. 🌊

We’ve been seeing plenty lately, and they often stay in the area or reappear later in the day, so there’s every chance they’ll be around for a while yet.

There are already lots of people along the seafront and up on the tops watching, taking videos and photos.

🇬🇧 ARMED FORCES DAY – WHITLEY BAY 🇬🇧

For many people across our region, the Armed Forces aren’t just names or uniforms they’re our parents, grandparents, children, friends, neighbours and colleagues.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to recognise their commitment, sacrifice and service, and to thank those who serve, those who have served, and the families who support them.

On Saturday 27th June at 10:30am, The Links in Whitley Bay will host a parade led by the North Tyneside Pipe Band alongside veterans and members of the Whitley Bay Comrades Club, followed by cadet activities and community events throughout the day.

Nothing shows support more than people turning up, so if you’re free, why not go along and be part of what promises to be a special day for the local community.
