Olga Polizzi's hotel on the Cornish Coast Tresanton is a cluster of houses on the edge of St Mawes, one of the prettiest fishing villages in Cornwall.

Originally created as a yachtsmen’s club, in 1997 Olga Polizzi bought Tresanton and spent two years completely redesigning and restoring it. All rooms have stunning views across the sea towards St Anthony’s lighthouse. In addition to 30 rooms the hotel has a restaurant, bar, sitting room, cinema, playroom, children’s garden and a private yacht.

On Sunday, 27 September, join Olga Polizzi for a tour of the terraces at Tresanton as they tumble down to meet the sea. The tour will be held in the company of Jon James. A talented landscape designer, Jon progressed from overseeing Cornwall’s Parks and Green Spaces to managing Bristol’s Natural and Marine Environment. Jon says: ‘developing the gardens at Hotel Tresanton has been one of the highlights of my career, as it gave me the opportunity to work with people who have equal passion and imagination to bring something amazing to life’.

Marion Parish, the current hotel gardener, will be on hand to bring the story of our garden up to the present day.

After the tour, you are invited to join Olga for dinner, where she will reminisce about creating the garden from a sea of brambles 30 years ago. Dinner is £115 including a welcome drink, dinner and half a bottle of w**e. Each guest will receive an envelope of seeds collected from our garden and a beautifully illustrated map.

Tresanton is lighting the BBQ for the final Beach Club Supper of the season on Thursday, 10 September. The menu features BBQ beef brisket, slaw, sweet chili jam, flatbread and rocket salsa, followed by chocolate brownie with clotted cream. The price is £30. Join Alex Polizzi for a two-night Ramblers Retreat at Hotel Tresanton. On Tuesday 6 October, Alex will lead a circular walk to St Just in Roseland Church before hosting a group dinner that evening. The following morning, Alex will lead a full-day walk along the South West Coast Path to the Standard Inn in Portscatho for lunch, before returning to the hotel via the Place Ferry.
