This week is a sad but happy one as we say goodbye and good luck to our kitchen manager and pitmaster, who has landed a new role down in Bristol! (Still smoking up some quality BBQ, of course.)
Will joined us when we first opened the pub with zero hesitation, travelling daily from Wales and then later from Bristol. He’s helped us through the pub opening, the kitchen opening, menu changes, the good times and the bad times. He kept the pub running when Saylor was born prematurely, and he’s one of the reasons The Stallards is what it is today.
Ruby and I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done, and we’re looking forward to getting down to Bristol for some line dancing and, of course, to judge his brisket at his new joint.
This Sunday, we’ll be giving him a little send-off (after he’s finished in the kitchen, of course), so pop on down from 7pm and buy the lad his last drink as an employee — or put a food order in just to make his final day that little bit harder.
Alas, have no fear! Our kitchen won’t be changing and it’s business as usual for us here 😎
