Steak, chips, wine, and 500 years of pub history for £25? Yes, please. 🙌

If these walls could talk, they’d tell you that back in 1803, this very pub changed its name to The Trooper Alehouse after a legendary visit from the Duke of Wellington.

You can even spot “ID 1769” hand-carved into our front brickwork from previous owners over 250 years ago. 

We’re keeping the tradition of great hospitality alive every Wednesday evening.

Due to the incredible demand for private events in The Barn and our restaurant getting busier than ever, we’ve decided to officially close our cafe operations.

We’re taking this time to pour 100% of our energy into our award-winning dining experience and creating unforgettable events for you.

To every single person who frequented the cafe and supported us—thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
