We are a small local restaurant in a beautiful small town setting. The Rice Bowl features a main restaurant and also a private function room for larger parties.

Due to the extreme heat causing the kitchen to reach over 40°C, we have decided to close the restaurant the whole of Thursday 25/06 and closing during Lunch period on Friday 26/06. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope you can understand that the health of our staff is very important to us.

We'll offer the All-You-Can Eat menu on both May Bank Holidays, reservation can be made by calling us or using the online platform.

We want to take a moment to address something important.

At our restaurant, we pride ourselves on providing great food and friendly service. Our team works hard every day to make sure every customer has a positive experience, and we will always do our best to resolve any issues that arise.

However, we will not tolerate abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour towards our staff.

Recently, a situation arose where a customer contacted us about their order. Even though it was the customer who ordered the wrong item and was complaining about that item, we were actively trying to resolve the issue and reached out to help. However, our staff member was met with repeated profanity, verbal abuse, and threatening language before they even had a chance to speak.

This is completely unacceptable.

We understand that mistakes can happen — and when they do, we are here to fix them. But we expect all communication to remain respectful. Our staff deserve to feel safe and valued at work, just like anyone else.

Moving forward, any abusive or threatening behaviour will result in refusal of service and may be escalated further if necessary.

We appreciate the continued support from the vast majority of our customers who treat our team with kindness and respect ❤️
