Work begins on Monday on a £300,000 highways improvement scheme to enhance safety and accessibility along Torquay seafront, between Abbey Crescent and Cary Parade (A379).
The project includes resurfacing works, replacing street lighting, introducing a new zebra crossing and new bus stops at Abbey Crescent. Work is expected to be completed by 23 October.
Throughout most of the programme, traffic will continue to flow in both directions, with one lane maintained in each direction. Towards the end of the scheme, a short-term one-way closure on the seaward side of the route will be required to allow resurfacing works to be carried out safely.
Temporary parking and loading restrictions will be in place as the works progress, so motorists are advised to follow local signage.
