Fun in the hub!

Our Friday special lunch was homemade cheese & onion quiche served with a caeser salad…it went down a treat with everyone who had it! How lucky are we to have very talented chefs 👏🏼

We also celebrated, Renee, one of our dear regular’s birthdays. There was singing, cake and lots of hugs.

And we finished the day off with some badge making. Everyone was very happy with taking a little something home that they had made 🤗

This week’s Friday activity was painting flower wreaths…with cotton buds! Here’s what everyone got up to 🌺

If you’d like to join us, we have our Lunch clubs running every Tuesday & Friday. Come and enjoy a lovely home cooked 2 course meal for £6. Then, on Tuesdays, we do bingo at 1pm and on Fridays it’s arts/crafts or other fun activities at 1pm.

Everyone is welcome! 🫶🏻

We’ve had a great week in the cafe so we thought we’d show you and share the highlights!

Our regular Bingo session on Tuesday, plenty of fresh veggies on the Fare Share delivery, Community Builders coming in to say hi, lots of our regulars coming in for the Tuesday & Friday Lunch Club, doggies galore (shout out to Bert, Flame & Betsy!) and we rounded the week off with a big quiz!
Congrats to our winning team and we can’t wait to see everyone again on Tuesday!! 🤗

We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand‑new StreetVet outreach location in Torquay! ✨

Our new team of volunteer vets, vet nurses, and support volunteers ran their very first session last week and were delighted to meet their first patient, who received a much‑needed nail clip and plenty of cuddles. 🐾

A huge well done to everyone who helped make this first session happen:
➡️Our incredible StreetVet Volunteer & Operations Teams for getting everything ready
➡️A very big welcome to our team of 11 Torquay volunteers, seven brand‑new to StreetVet, along with four amazing Plymouth volunteers now supporting both locations
➡️ Torbay Community Café & Help Hub for their partnership, providing us with a warm indoor space to deliver the outreach session

Each playing a vital role in helping us deliver free accessible veterinary care and support to the pets of those experiencing homelessness in the Torquay area. We truly couldn’t do this without you all. 🙌

StreetVet Torquay is the first of our new outreach locations to launch through our exciting alliance with Battersea . Together, StreetVet & Battersea have committed to delivering 12 new outreach locations over the next 5 years. Thank you Battersea for joining our mission! 💙

Here’s to new beginnings, and to more pets and their owners across the UK receiving the support they need and deserve.

It was a busy day in the Community Cafe & Hub yesterday with 2 lovely groups having their Christmas dinners.

We had our regular group on one table and Usha Community Builder group on the other.

There was plenty of chatting, laughter (gravy!) and connections being made 🥰

And we finished off the festivities for that day with a game of bingo.

Lots of full tummies and warm hearts left the building 😊
