What an amazing day yesterday for the Ossett Tap Takeover.
Huge thanks to Alex from Ossett Brewery who did an amazing job keeping everyone entertained with splat the rat (he gave away lots of pints to people who won and merch to the non winners including stickers, t shirts, bar runners and cans of Ossett beer).
We put on the temporary tattoos he had (not sure how temporary they are as mine is stuck there firmly!).
Visitors came from all over as far as New South Wales (3 of the 4 Aussies splatted the rat - I assume they’ve had practice with some of the scary creepy crawlers over there 🙈) - it’s lovely to see travellers making a special stop at The Fox.
It’s a lot of work behind the scenes prepping for a tap takeover from choosing the beers to planning the lines and moving kegs and casks around ready. Toby is shattered!
Earlier in the day we also had a fantastic crowd in from Manchester (and Ukraine) who were really interested in craft beer and starting their craft beer crawl with a trip to us. They are organising a supply run to Ukraine so we have offered to help however we can and so if anyone has any good fundraising ideas let us know.
Note that we have decided to close this Bank Holiday Monday for a few reasons mainly weather related but also some of you know that I (Naomi) had a suspected TIA on 10th August and R&R has to come before work when things like that happen even when there is good beer about.
