This award is for players, committee members, management, supporters or volunteers of lower league clubs in Scottish football who gave absolutely everything. Nothing was too much, nothing was a problem and they lived and breathed the club in all they done.
Unfortunately these people are no longer with us.
We can now proudly announce the very first nomination in this category.
Sometimes the word club Legend is used very loosely in football terms but not here.. Id even say its still an understatement.
Nomination 1
Brian Morgan - Sauchie Juniors FC East of Scotland Football Association
From someone that Brian Morgan meant the absolute world too.
Brian Morgan.
So hard to even think about how much Brian gave to the game and what he gave to his beloved club Sauchie.
I will probably not do him any justice here as there’s so many occasions and memories we all have but I’m gonna try my best.
Brian must of played the most games for Sauchie in the history. I remember sitting counting with him one night sharing a beer and discussing it. We lost count after about 360 appearances. He gave his every last bit to the club and will forever be a club legend and in my football time he’s one of the best players I’ve had the privilege to play alongside and manage.
Brian is all out effort endeavour and a will to win I have never seen before in a footballer.
Certainly Sauchie will never see the talent and effort combined again that they did from our number 21.
Brian your a true legend and a footballing hero no one ever liked playing against him he was such a hard fought and one of those players who just kept coming back and back. Sleep easy now Brian your memory and talent will never be forgottten.
You are the meaning of club legend and are missed everyday.
Our special band of brothers who is everyone he’s played alongside will always talk and remember you. Such a special kid with a heart of gold 💛
A special note on a conversation we had one day.
Right morgy lad you need to go out and give me everything you’ve got today pal.
