Good morning and no it’s not mine lol. I wish it was. Mine is growing slight slower so if I were to use a photo of mine this morning we would all be wearing our glasses to see it BUT it’s coming along lol.
This is just a reminder to get Thursdays in your diary if you are at all “yarny” - that includes crochet, knitting, lap sewing and chatting lol - any kind of yarn will do! We would love to see you at our “yarny” get together. Most of what we do is for charity and I will be explaining more about new projects this Thursday but feel free to bring your own projects and to help and be helped. 💖
It’s just lovely to have a dedicated day to be together. The day starts at 9.30am and lasts as long as you want it to - so you can dip in and out and we usually start tidying up around 2pm but we have been known to have after hours drinking - coffee of course 🥴
Personally I can’t wait to share lots of updates and newness this will be my last Thursday before my holiday so I need to get it all out there lol

Have a great day today - never mind the weather. It’s been here before and it goes eventually! We are I’ll have the sun back soon.

Good morning. It’s the first day of the week and the first day of a new month and out Abba event is a first for Calme too!
The idea came from my late dad who used to say “never underestimate the power of music”.
He loved all things ABBA and use to dance around with his tongue out in his un**es and slippers, he was quite a character. Luckily I don’t have photos of that and I don’t intend to replicate it on the evening but I do intend to have some fun and sing and dance and let go of the uptight me just a little and I will be dressing like this lol 😂

I hope we see you there. We don’t relax enough and whilst wine is good the after effects are nothing like a good song and dance workout!

Warning 🤣 Emotional post!

There have been a good few times in my life when I have found myself in a place or position and wondered why? I have always been a bit of a knee jerker I’m afraid. Decision first reason second and Calme is no exception. I felt a need, a pull, saw a pathway and I followed it. Then I thought - what have I done? What am I going to do?

For those who know me or have been around me this past few months and more you will know that at times I have waded in mud and have gone around in circles. It’s to you today that I apologise wholeheartedly for not being able to see the wood for the trees and for not understanding the true meaning of the word “community”. I have truly been trying to build what is already there. I am surrounded by it!

You have been telling me for months. So this is just a huge thank you to you lovely people, you know who you are. You have had me under your wing when I thought I had you lol. You have kept me safe and sane when I doubted this journey. I hear you at last!

Teamwork really does make the dream work and I am so grateful to you all xx

Come and spend a lovely couple of hours creating with purpose ❤️

For £10 you’ll receive your own poppy brooch kit and create a beautiful handmade brooch to take home and wear with pride.

And… if you have time and fancy making a second one, we’d absolutely love for you to leave it with us so we can sell the extra brooches and raise even more funds for the Royal British Legion 🌺

We’ll have a little Vera Lynn playing in the background, plenty of chat and a chance to pause and gently remind ourselves — in a happy way — why these poppies mean so much and who we remember. ♥️

No pressure. No perfection. Just making, remembering and doing something lovely together.

Good Morning. So in a beautifully relaxed way (I am learning!) - we are reframing our Thursdays. Our Thursday will now be Yarn days - so whether it’s crochet, knitting or lap sewing we would love to see you but if it’s not of those and you just want a natter we would still love to see you. If and when we can we will have “tutors” or those individuals happy to share hints and tips and get the beginners off the starters block and when we can’t we will help each other. We will befriend and support and grow together to help ourselves and others 😊

Coffees and cakes and a light lunch menu will be available and appreciated as that’s what keeps us ticking over right now. The get together is free and the refreshments pay the rent - simples 🤗

We love our Thursdays. It feels like a throw back to all those years ago here at Marsh Mill. We called it knit & Natter at one point and then it grew arms and legs and became knit & Natter and Stitch & Bitch lol but it was really just ladies looking out for ladies and a beautiful place to be.

Welcome back.

Thursdays will be 9.30am -2pm - it always depends on how much fun we are having and so far we haven’t left once in time lol 😜
