Our cinema evening with Amanda Owen - the Yorkshire Shepherdess was a blast.
After unloading a gazillion books (special Staff access through the back of the cinema - already excited 😀)we thought we'd be listening through a door at this sold out event. But the lovely people from TV reserved brilliant seats for us, where drinks & delicious chocolate cookies awaited! The seats are sooo comfy & relaxing at Everyman cinema, how could this be work?
It was a brilliant event, sharing secrets of More4's most popular series in years.
We heard from Channel 4, Wise Owl films and the star, Amanda, with guest daughter, Clemmy. 90 minutes just whizzed by. Breath-taking footage was shown on the big screen, making it even more epic and it just made you want to head to Swaledale...
Then the book signing was announced & we dashed out to our bookstall, where we had loads of Amanda's new title.
After, we sold heaps of books to a very excited queue of folk, all waiting for a chance to meet the stars.
It was lovely to hear where people had come from; some staying over to be part of this behind-the-scenes celebration. We loved chatting to so many people working on getting book deals, TV programmes, BBC folk & of course the family at the heart of the show.
Amanda was really generous and signed lots of copies, and by now Clemmy was insisting a day off school tomorrow would be fine 🙂
We got home after 10pm, feeling elated to be part of a great event on our patch.
