TEWKESBURY BATTLEFIELD SOCIETY CONFERENCE, IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE BATTLEFIELDS TRUST – PRESERVING A BATTLEFIELD – YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW
After forced to delay from 2021 by a combination of the pandemic restrictions and a clash with the date of His Majesty’s Coronation, we are delighted to announce that the Tewkesbury Battlefield Society Conference, mounted in partnership with the Battlefields Trust, has been scheduled for Saturday 4 May 2024, falling on the 553rd anniversary of the Battle. The conference will take place in the Watson Hall in the heart of the town between 10.00 am and 4.30 pm on the Saturday, and will be followed by a guided battlefield tour on the Sunday for all those wishing to stay over.

The theme of the Conference will be ‘Preserving a Battlefield – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’, with our speakers (subject to last minute change owing to circumstances beyond our control) including:
Opening address - Prof Anne Curry
• Graham Turner - creating images of our battles.
• Cranwell Wargamers - refighting battles in miniature (including demonstration game).
• Tewks Battlefield Society - the evolution of the Society and Med Fest, and making the battlefield accessible.
• Glenn Foard- battlefield archaeology.
• The Battlefields Trust - resources and threats.

To keep ticket prices low, we are not providing catering other than tea and coffee, but there is a wealth of food outlets close to the Hall and attendees are also welcome to bring their own lunch. The Watson Hall bar will also be open over the lunch period. Tickets for the Saturday event are available at £15, and the Sunday walk, including transport to Tredington and tea and coffee midway, will cost a further £15. These are available to purchase using PayPal via our website

We hope you can join us for what promises to be an informative, engaging and, above all, enjoyable event.
