Over the last few weeks we have been completely overwhelmed by the kindness shown to us. The messages, cards, visits, and generous gifts have made our final days more special than we ever imagined.
Seeing familiar faces we hadn’t seen for years, people coming back just to say goodbye, and hearing how much the shop has meant to so many of you has truly touched our hearts. It has made us feel incredibly appreciated and much loved.
One moment that especially moved us was Lyn Howcut visiting — knowing it was her parents originally set up the shop about 42 years ago, and that she came in on our very first day and wanted to be here on our last, is something we will never forget.
Thank you all for making our final weeks so busy, so joyful, and so full of warmth. After 38 years, we couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful send-off.

We’ve been so touched by all the lovely messages, cards, and good wishes. Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding — it really means a lot to us.
We may be closing the shop, but we’re not going far and will still be around the village, so please do stop and say hello. We’ll miss serving you all, but we leave with many happy memories and very grateful hearts.

A Fond Farewell & Heartfelt Thanks
To all our wonderful customers, friends, and neighbours,
After 38 wonderful years, the time has finally come for us, Paul and Marianne , to hang up our aprons and retire.

It has been the greatest privilege to serve the community of Templecombe from our little fish and chip shop. We have watched children grow up and bring their own children in for a Friday night treat, shared in your celebrations, and been a constant part of many of your routines. We cherish every memory and every conversation.

We had always hoped to sell the business as a going concern to keep the tradition alive for the village. Unfortunately, despite trying for over a year, we have not found a buyer. It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision to close the shop for good.

This is not the outcome we wanted, but our own retirement can no longer wait. We want to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your incredible loyalty and support over the last four decades. You have been more than just customers; you have been the reason we loved coming to work every day.
Our final day of trading will be 20th December 2025

A massive, heartfelt thank you to this amazing community for your support and friendship since 1986. We will miss you all.
