Hy everyone... i thought id do a post for anyone newly vegan or trying veganuary... my top 3 tips..
Try not to just replace your usual meals with meat/dairy replacements... its possible now with the range available, but they are highly processed and not that healthy... try and improve your cooking skills and introduce new ingredients and use more veg and pulses.Getting a veg box can be a good inspiration!
2. Kinda on from that but if you try baking dont replace ingredients like eggs and butter, find vegan recipes .Baking is like alchemy it needs specific things, MUCH better results and cheaper with carefully worked out recipes and theres plenty of them on the internet.
3.The most asked enquiry i see is about milk in tea/coffee... everyone is different you are just going to have to experiement to find the one best for your tastes, but please remember any changes like this will seem a bit odd to start with, give it a bit of time GOOD LUCK ALL its not that difficult! ###x

Batch cooking for the freezer... these are easy ,cheap and delicious green lentil quarter pounders... 1 cup of dried lentils, 1 packet of stuffing mix, onion, handful of nooch, seasoning and splash of oil... just cook lentils and add everything else in,,, add hot water until you get a good consistency(best to leave for 10 mins or so)... shape and bake for 30 mins... then you can fry or bake from frozen... i added caramelised onions and breadcrumbed these for extra yumminess still only come out at about 10p each! x

Hi All sorry i havent posted for a long time and this is a difficult post to write but im sorry to say a combination of Brexit, the pandemic and ill health has made it impossible for me carry on trading and working as a cook. Id like to thank all the people who supported me and bought from me over the 8 years of my business...Notably Andy Woggle for all the internet /website work, Eve Scragg for lots of excellent marketing and help , Tim Barford and Vegfest, Kevin White and everyone at the Vegan Traders Union........ its not all bad as happily ive lucked into a little house by the sea, a long held dream of mine and the pandemic has given me time and space to pursue other creative outlets, such as making quilts and of course music.. and ive also become a student with the OU studying to become a counsellor.... i may keep this page to continue my passion with veganism and to help people on their vegan journey with loving support and yummy recipes, so please feel free to post or message me... love to you all ######

Thanks Sandra for sending in this lovely photo of your cheese on toast with home grown tomatoes (declared by you to be "bloody lovely"! 😄). Cheese on toast was always one of those things I missed like mad as a vegan.

If it's also one of your faves, then Mel's Melty Mix is the perfect vegan cheese alternative for you.
